The place was so nice. It was cozy with the cabin theme decor. The neighbors on each side are very nice people. The host thought of everything needed for a stay. The location was perfect for the places we wanted to go to. It was a wonderful stay for us. And would definitely go back. Thank you to the host for making it a memorable stay!
My sister and I spent a week here in June. The cottage is cozy. The back deck was the place to relax. The sounds of the birds and other creatures were mesmerizing. The neighbor’s garden is gorgeous and a pleasant addition to the woodsy backyard. Very nice neighbors.
We were about 2 miles from where our daughter’s home. There is a bike/walking path out the back door. Our daughter’s family walked the path several times to come visit us. I walked 2 miles on the path each morning. My husband and I fun this home very nice. We would go back.
Wonderful and cozy cottage near everything in Northern Lower Peninsula
Quiet, well-stocked cottage with fire pit, immediate access to US-31 and sitting directly on Petoskey-Mackinaw City trail was only 5-35 minutes to so many adventures. It provided the perfect place to relax, recharge and recount those ziplining, parasailing, horseback riding and other adventures around the fire after the day was done. The owners were also great, and very responsive.
Vary comfortable cottage. The owners were quick to respond to the few issues that needed resolution. The neighbors on both sides were very nice and fun to be around.

In desperate need of upgrades/updates to home furnishings
Fine if you can sleep in anything but the beds were HORRIBLE. They need to get new mattresses- especially in the back bedroom. The bedding/linens were shabby and could use a refresh. Not that well furnished as compared to other VRBO's we've stayed in.
My son and I came to the area for training at Kilwins in anticipation of opening a Kilwins in Brevard, NC. The home was perfect, comfortable, with two bedrooms and an adequate kitchen and outdoor grill. I enjoyed the walking pathway behind the home which goes on for miles. I met the neighbors on either side and they were very friendly. We ate at the restaurant just three doors down and it proved to be very, very good. We would stay at this home again were we ever to return; it's a beautiful area!

Wonderful accommodations
The cottage was very well equipped for our stay. We really appreciate a washer and dryer while on vacation. It was also clean and cute! The owners were responsive and nice to work with. We loved the walking/bike trail close to the cottage and walked it every day. In addition the cottage had a great location. We were easily able to go to Harbor Springs and Petoskey (the best fudge in Michigan can be found at Howse's Fudge in Harbor Springs). We also made an easy trip to Wilderness State Park in northwest corner of the lower peninsula. It was beautiful and a perfect place to hike and swim.
This cottage is perfect for what we needed. As this was a working vacation, we were not concerned about waterfront (which this does not have at all) but there is a little beach on Crooked lake a short drive away. We had 2 adult couples and it worked very well. The area was quick to a lot of "Up North" destinations. The cottage was clean and appointed very well. Great yard. The owner was very helpful and responded quickly. He even checked in a couple times while we were there to see if we needed anything else.
very cute cottage in a perfect location. close to petoskey, Harbor spirngs, charlovoix , alanson and most importantly the damn site inn. (best chicken in Michigan.) Vivios in indian river has the most amazing pizza.
The back yard and bike trail were wonderful. we had many fires at night and walked on the bike trail many nights after dinner. The charloviox beach was the best in my opinion (quiet, calm and free) Petoskey beach was good but it cost $9/day and was a bit crowded and windy. small hint of mildew smell in the cottage but febreeze was helpful. Had a wonderful visit.
Rob was quick to help us figure out the key lockbox - after you align the numbers in the code, pull the face of the lockbox down from the top.
We liked the cozy cottage and back yard very much. Important note, if someone in your group will sleep in the back bedroom: wear earplugs at night!! There's a water machine of some kind in the closet and it's LOUD whenever cold water is used in the cottage. Rob was quick to offer ideas on fun things to see in the area and overall very responsive.
This was not directly on lake- There’s a busy road (Rt31) , then several homes across the street ,so No views directly of Crooked lake, from the house. Location was great for our Daily side trips. Furniture couch, including beds ; need to be updated ,as very uncomfortable (worn out). At night the lights were so low , so it was to hard to read or play games. Parking vehicle so far away from home made it difficult for senior visitors , to get up and down the steps and walk on uneven pavers ,to unload car of our supplies. Neighbors very helpful and back yard deck was beautiful place to unwind in the evening and watching birds/black squirrels in the morning. Bike/walking trail in the back yard was nice too.
We stayed at the Cottage for a week while family camped nearby at Petoskey State Park. Daytime visits were to the Park & other Petoskey parks, Harbor Springs, Tunnel of Trees, Sault Ste. Marie, Mackinaw City, St. Ignace & Walloon Lake. Thoroughly enjoyed the use of the bike path right behind the cottage; rode every day for many miles and also took walks,. Sometimes just sat on the back patio enjoying the lovely yard & a good read. Enjoyed exploring the art galleries in Harbor Springs and just took in the charm filled town. We walked to Northwood several times & always enjoyed an excellent meal. We also grilled some delicious steaks from Toski Sands Market, shopped at D&W Fresh Market, Crooked Tree Breadworks & Olesons for food & supplies. House of Pies & Tom's Mom's Cookies provided great dessert! We ate at Beards Brewery with the whole family (including a 2 and a 4 year old w/ a lot of energy). It was delicious & they were very gracious. The cottage was well stocked and had all that we needed. It was very convenient & close to many destinations to explore. We would love to visit the Cottage again sometime!
The bed in the large bedroom was awful, the mattress was essentially springs, no cushion. We ended up spending $200 dollars on a mattress topper just so we could sleep, and still wasn't great. There is a chipmunk and mice problem. They were getting in through the bedroom closet and crawling up behind the dishwasher. I love chipmunks buy after buying a live trap and not being able to trap them and having one crawl up my leg while in bed at 6:40AM I had to use rat traps. I trapped 3 chipmunks and 4 mice within a week's time. The kitchen is well stocked but there is an odor problem under the kitchen and bath sink, possible moisture. If it wasn't for that we probably would not have cut our vacation short by 3 days and came home.
I would return again. Very well located to all of our excursions. Very quaint and clean. Safe. Loved the walking/ bike path out the back door. The only thing I felt perhaps a bit misleading about “ being across the road from Crooked lake”is that it is across busy Route 31 and then lake front cottages with no real public access to the lake unless you drove atleast a mile. Then limited beach and mostly fisherman. Not able to swim from that location
What a pleasant surprise when we walked into the cottage. Much bigger than it looks from the outside. Very nicely decorated and comfortable. The traffic noise was a little loud, but quieted down later in the evening. Lovely yard and great access to the bike path in back.

About the host
Hosted by Rob or Beth
We love to travel, boat, entertain friends and family, visit new destinations, explore, go on cruise and land vacations, find great deals, read self development books and help others have fun, make money and make a difference.
Why they chose this property
We have friends in the area and love Northern Michigan for a get away to visit all the towns, lakes, islands, restaurants, shops, beaches and boating etc... :) It is our favorite place to relax and get away. There is so much to do but we also enjoy just staying in and making food in the cottage.
What makes this property unique
Relaxing, boating, beaches, restaurants, Mackinaw Island, Bay Harbor, Parks, Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Charlevoix and sight seeing. We also, like the fact that you can walk to Northwoods restaurant just a couple hundred feet away and also walk to the Pie backery on the other end of the park in front of the cottage. Also, you can put in a kayak or canoe at Crooked Lake only about 1000 ft diagonally away from the front door. The newly paved bike path in back is great too for biking all the way to Petoskey State Park Beach or walking. Also for some reason, I have had the best steaks ever on the open fire pit grill in back. Cooking over the fire is great.
