We really enjoyed our stay here. It was secluded and peaceful. Nicely marked short loop trail on the property. Had everything we needed (even hairbands - thank you!). The hot tub was great! We did a day of hiking in Shenandoah park, beautiful drive to and from the cabin.

Great Cabin

We enjoyed the cabin very much. Clean and nice layout. We had a bit of an issue with the check in access code which was frustrating after driving so far, but it did get resolved. Loved the seclusion of the cabin and the privacy. Definitely recommend.

Great gateway from northern VA

The host was extremely accommodating; communication was clear and timely. Cute and clean cabin. Fire pit and hot tub were a nice addition, as getting to and from the main road does take sometime. The remoteness was welcomed.

Short Vacation

Absolutely wonderful! A perfect, cozy home for two! We stayed for two nights and it was equipped with everything we needed & more. The games & hot tub are a nice bonus. On our first night here, there was a power outage and the host was fast and reassuring in letting me know when it would be fixed. Couldn't complain one bit! Perfect spot if looking to visit the national park or just staying in!

About the host

I'm the founder of Atlas Grove Property Group and own and operate a couple of really fun rentals in the Shenandoah area. Check out our great reviews and come stay with us!

I'm also an active-duty officer in the USAF who has traveled for work and pleasure across Europe, Africa, and Asia. I love learning languages and experiencing new cultures, as well as exploring the natural beauty of the world. I live with my wife and two young girls in Stuttgart, Germany.

Why they chose this property

We love this country cabin! It's a perfect little getaway just two hours from DC or Richmond. Everything is so quiet and peaceful on the secluded 7-acre property. You can relax and unwind here, or use it as a basecamp for exploring the area. Shenandoah National Park is about 15 minutes away, where you can drive the scenic Skyline Drive and stop to enjoy the iconic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, or enjoy a hike on the hundreds of miles of trails -- check out South River Falls, which is very close to us! We also love to explore the antique shops in Stanardsville, Ruckersville, and Barboursville. If you love winetasting, you'll be in heaven! There are dozens of independent vineyards and wineries in Central Virginia, with several close to the cabin -- Early Mountain is a guest favorite! Beer drinkers will also enjoy several microbreweries nearby, like Octonia or Bald Top.

What makes this property unique

The cabin is rustic and small, but we've updated the interior to feel modern and have all the amenities you need to have a super relaxing stay. The hot tub and firepit allow you to enjoy the beautiful outdoor environment with total privacy, and the convenient location makes it easy to plan fun activities and then come back for a peaceful night's sleep at the cabin.
