About this property

Private oasis close to town!

New listing on VRBO but already a guest approved STR! The beautiful Greek Revival style farmhouse has been restored to feature the unique rustic details of the house while adding modern conveniences for guests to enjoy! Situated on several acres, neighbors are set apart, and the large yard features a fire pit to enjoy in the evening. This is the perfect space when you want to be a short drive to downtown, but also want a private retreat all to yourself, away from it all!

The Revival Retreat is a Greek revival style farmhouse built in 1830 and restored by the owner years ago- saving a piece of history. This is speckled with decorations and furniture that is a little rustic, antique, a bit farmhouse, and shabby chic. A perfect mix of old and new.

The house has kept some rustic features, like the original wood floors, roughed up, showing many layers of paint and giving them red and a bit of blue from many years ago. Salvaged doors throughout with classic latch handles, lead you into the many spaces within this quaint home.

You enter in the front door using the original skeleton key. To the right is a cozy living room with smart TV, a newer Stickley sofa, and a few antique tables. Some of the furniture is even from the same year as the house was built!

Continue on into the eat in kitchen- with a long table that can seat 4-6. The kitchen is equipped with a chefs stove, commercial refrigerator, porcelain farmhouse double bay sink- and plenty of pots, pans, and utensils to cook up most anything. The kitchen is rounded out with a toaster oven and even an milkshake maker in one of the cabinets! The half bath is right off of the kitchen.

In the kitchen there is a tea kettle, French press, coffee, tea, sugar, basic spices, olive oil, and balsamic.

There is a small bar area with openers and a shaker for cocktails. The bar glasses are in the living room in the corner cabinet- wine glasses, coupes, and collins glasses.

To the left of the front entrance is one of the two bedrooms. Compete with a queen size- four post bed, wardrobe, another TV with Roku, and an en-suite bathroom with tiled shower, rainfall shower head, and all the basics for you to take a shower with. (Towels, washcloths, shampoo, conditioner, body wash)

Upstairs leads into the second bedroom, featuring a black metal full size bed. Down the hall is the en-suite for the second bedroom- this has a claw foot tub. There are Epsom salts, bath tea, and even a candle if you need a good soak to relax. The bath also has a shower- *****Please Note- this is a 3/4ths story on the second level- the shower may be challenging for anyone above 5’ 10”- (based on me standing in the shower) ones head would go above the shower head potentially above that height.

Outside- is a private, several acre oasis. Large yard with charcoal grill (BYO charcoal) and a fire pit that has a stack of wood ready for you to use.

The area is peaceful and serene- with that in mind- please respect the neighbor and keep it quiet after 10pm.

Cute old house, a little noisy
Nice house with period features and furnishings, but modern amenities. Firepit is a nice touch. Lovely setting. House is close to road, and older windows let in lots of road noise.

beautiful getaway
We couldn't have been happier with our stay. This Gothic Revival farmhouse has been decorated to give it rustic charm, and we loved the atmosphere the whole time we were there. The modern amenities make it very comfortable too. We loved that the house was spotless on arrival and all the little details had been taken care of. The kitchen was extremely well-equipped, too. Would definitely stay here again!
