Recently renovated in September 2024 with a new kitchen and hardwood floors! Nestled in the cozy and quiet Hale Moi complex in Princeville, our spacious one-bedroom condo is perfect to serve as your home base as you explore the awe-inspiring beauty of the North Shore (and beyond) of Kauai. The condo is less than a 5 minute walk to multiple beaches and the newly opened restaurants and spa at the 1Hotel Hanalei.

The View

The view from our condo is a spectacular showcase of the unspoiled beauty of Kauai. Off the lanai to the right, take in a breathtaking view of Makana Mountain, the oceanside mountain peak made famous as Bali Hai in the movie South Pacific. Enjoy sunsets right on the lanai as the evening sky comes alive with a kaleidoscope of tropical color. Looking directly off the lanai (or from the inside of the studio) is a lush, tropical greenbelt (alive with birds chirping in the morning) and the Namolokama mountain range. After rain showers, you can see one, two, or even dozens of cascading waterfalls. Experience it all without leaving your condo!

The Accommodations

Our condo is a corner, second-floor unit (up only 6 steps) with vaulted ceilings, a 25-foot-long lanai, beach gear and everything to make your stay cozy and comfortable. One of the best things about our complex, Hale Moi, is it is small and low-key - our building has just four condos. The condo has a king bed, queen bed in the loft, full kitchen, and washer/dryer. It has a Serta plush top mattress, high end linen sheets (including comforters), a 32' flat panel smart TV, free WiFi, and all kitchen accessories. It is light and airy with windows galore, breathtaking views and has a tremendous nature-y feel to it.

A/C & Heat

The suite has a quiet and efficient AC and heating system - It never hurts to have A/C, as Kauai is guaranteed to get hot and humid in summer, but also at any time of year. And if you're coming in winter, it's nice to have heat - overnight lows on Kauai can dip near 60 degrees.

The Location

Our condo is special for many reasons and a major one is location. Hale Moi is in one of the only areas in Princeville where you have beach access within walking distance. Two beaches are within a ten minute walk, with the closest being Pu'u Po'a beach in front of the newly renovated 1 Hotel. Right outside the front door is the scenic jog/walk/bike path that runs through Princeville, and across the street is a famous sunset viewing spot (Voted one of the 10 ten sunset viewing locations by Traveler Magazine), which is also great for whale watching if you’re with us during the season (Nov-April). Gorgeous Hanalei Bay is a 10 minute drive and for hikers, several trails are within reach, including the Okolehao trail in Hanalei and the infamous Kalalau Trail. If golf is your thing, the Makai golf course (recently renovated) is a half-mile away. For an easy dinner out, Hideaways Pizza Pub is a 5 minute walk. Princeville Center is a 5 minute drive and has a grocery store, coffee shop, yoga studios, shopping, and more.

Daniel was great from the moment we made the reservation. The Kauai Guide he shared provided great recommendations from outdoor activities to great restaurant options. We used them for the week prior to our check-in as well as during our stay at their location. Daniel and Luara, housekeeping, were very flexible with allowing us to drip off luggage and food items prior to check in when transferring from a timeshare condo to theirs. The property was well equipped, in a great location with beautiful views, clean and met our needs. They were attentive to details and our needs. We would definitely book with them again!

Why they chose this property

Before we lived on Kauai we were obsessed with visiting here and came almost every chance we had to go on vacation. We often stayed in Princeville because it's the most affordable way to experience Kauai's North Shore (just a short drive from Hanalei) and a great home base to explore the rest of the island.

What makes this property unique

Hale Moi is truly a hidden gem in Princeville! Most of the condo complexes aren't walking distance from anything to do outside -- which is the reason you come to Kauai! From our condo, you can cruise just across the road to a beautiful spot where locals watch the sunset (and whales during the season), walk 5 minutes down the road to TWO beaches at the tip of Hanalei Bay, or simply enjoy the gorgeous mountain views from your own lanai. If you want to go out to eat without driving, Hideaways Pizza Pub is right across the street.
