Accommodations: The Beach on Longboat Key is a relaxing, yet modern retreat located directly on the Gulf of Mexico, located mid-island on Longboat Key. Choose from our various unit styles including studio, hotel, one- and two-bedroom units. Enjoy all the amenities of home in these fully furnished condominiums including LCD, flat-screen TVs, full-sized kitchen or kitchenette with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops, private patio or balcony (2 brdms only), dining area, and modern, yet beachy, décor.



Limited Membership Privileges: Guests of The Beach on Longboat Key #101 will have temporary membership privileges at Cedars Tennis Resort located at 645 Cedars Court on Longboat Key. The limited temporary membership allows the guest access to fully-lit Har-Tru tennis and pickleball courts (after 1 p.m. daily and subject to availability), community bicycles, and Jr. Olympic heated swimming pool. The guest will also have access to the community fitness center.

Comfortable bed and plenty of beach towels. Had some trouble working the tv’s but eventually got it sorted.

Needs some attention

Great location. Beautiful Gulf view! Wonderful weather.Not enough beach lounge chairs for 14 units.Be careful walking off back patio! There are exposed irrigation pipes/lines and rusty electrical conduit.Could use a couple of sauce pans in the kitchen.Old pictures of what the property looks like.

Condo definitely needs some updating. The pictures on the Vrbo don’t match what you get. A lot of construction going on and around the property. Proximity to the beach was fantastic! Our refrigerator went out but it was taken care of the next day. Also..a very bright porch light shines into the master bedroom and there was no way to turn off.

After staying at a high end hotel this was initially disappointing but it served our purposes to extend our stay and having the extra bed and bathroom was great. The beach chairs could be updated but we still enjoyed our time there

Perfect getaway

So, if you’re looking for something to get away, quiet, peaceful retreat with beautiful sunsets away from the center of town. This is it. I stayed in unit 101, it’s big enough, perfect sunsets from the patio. Pool and beach are right there which is convenient when traveling with 2 toddlers. The unit needs some TLC and a very deep cleaning maybe even some paint, but overall it’s a great unit and I’ll definitely be back!

The office staff was very helpful also. Our thoughts are that the grounds of the property and on the patios need maintenance badly, looking really bad. Although the unit was clean, the floor was not, it could have used a good mopping. On checkin day after walking around barefoot we noticed that our feet were filthy. I would have though that the cleaning fee should have taken care of this. Thanks for listening.

The front door was very difficult to lock and the entire until needs a fresh coat of paint. The A/C was so loud that I could not sleep the first night and was tired and groggy the next day. The shower water was like a water hose vs an actual shower. The appliances were old and outdated and the place overall felt dirty.

Reviewer Comments: Beach location and pool was excellent, bbq as advertised lacked propane and I brought this up to the maintenance guy who mentioned that he could not replace the tank due to the time, approximately 4:30 pm. Secondary tank was empty and in bad shape! AC condenser was in the main bedroom that made a lot of noise. My wife who is very conscientious about cleaning said that the room was poorly cleaned. We would have expected higher standards for the price. We will not recommend this rental unit or any on this property. Sorry but being truthful!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property was clean and provided the main necessities. The property could stand a re-model given that there is peeling paint and marks of the walls and furniture. Our party was made up of 4 guests. Two of them were grown children, 17yr old and 23 yr old. I felt that the property was to small to accomodate this amount of people. The bunk beds would better serve small kids. The weather on the beach was not the best and it would have been nice to be able to take a swim in the heated pool just steps away from our apartment. But unfortunately the pool was not heated throughout our vacation with the water as cold or colder than the ocean water. Also several attempts over multiple days were made to speak to the person at the front desk but there was nobody there to speak to. Longboat Key ia a very private island with little restaurants and stores. There is no trolley service available to shuttle you to fun places on the island like St. Armands Circle or Mote Aquarium. All in all the vacation was okay but nothing special or worth the time or money. We will not be returning again.

After 25+/- Years - TThis May be our Last

Reviewer Comments: 1) We still love the location, the beach, the rooms of The Beach. 2) Over the past few years, we have seen a steady decline in the "friendliness" of The Beach (hard to describe). 3) We booked Room 101 several weeks in advance - due to "Mandatory Evacuation" our reservation was cancelled by The Beach - we were not given the option of having our money back ($950+/-)due to vague wording in the contract. (It is doubtful that The Beach would win in a lawsuit due to the Mandatory Evacuation (the room could not be provided to us) and Travel Incurance is not provided by The Beach. Luckily, the 15th and 16th were available, and we had the flexibilty to take that weekend (mostly because we are local (Tampa). 4) For the first year ever, we were given only 1 Parking Pass for our 2 car room. We were told we can either park in the exit driveway (very dangerous for both our car and anyone exiting at night - insurane would not have covered us for parking illegally) or at a remote location (which is absurd). 5) Supplies were noticably less (like no usable cork screw, minimal soap, etc). Over the years we have really enjoyed our annual (and often semi-annual stay at The Beach - we will miss it.
