Excellent, well-maintained property close to Carnegie Mellon University. My family and I visited Pittsburgh for our son’s graduation and stayed at this property for two days. The host was super responsive and courteously agreed to allow an early check-in for us, since we arrived in Pittsburgh on a red-eye flight from California. The home was very clean and well stocked with the required amenities. The area we stayed in was very quiet and calm. We enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend for stays in Pittsburgh.

It was a pleasure hosting you and your family. Congratulations again to your son and thank you for your kind words about our home.
This house was perfect for our family's visit to University of Pittsburgh. The house was as described in the listing, it was great to have a parking spot, and the check-in/check-out instructions were clear and timely. The location is good with close proximity to Pitt, and even though the surrounding neighborhood is more mixed, we felt comfortable during our stay. This house worked perfectly for our family that includes a teenage son and teenage daughter (who did not want to share a room or bed), and we would stay here again if our daughter decides to attend Pitt.

Thank you for choosing our home and staying with us during such an important process and time. We look forward to potentially hosting you again.
House was just ok. Needs a handyman to fix some things. But it was clean, and the bed was comfortable enough. The location was close to everything we did, but it did not look like a good neighborhood.

Thank you for choosing our home for your stay in Pittsburgh. Sorry it was not entirely up to your standards, but wanted to note that in the four years we've owned the home we have not had a single safety incident or issue regarding the neighborhood. Thanks again for staying with us!

While relatively clean, this property is not well kept. The pool/hot tub and backyard would take weeks to clean up. There were numerous spider webs throughout the house and within minutes of being in one of the bedrooms, we had to kill a spider. The towels were very poor quality and there is no dishwasher. The neighborhood does not look safe, many run down or fully abandoned buildings all around but we did not have any actual safety concerns. Compared to the other places we've stayed in Pittsburgh this was the lowest quality for the highest price. I've also never had to pay for insurance on a property and this was an additional 90 at check out. While there are parts of the house that were touched up (new backsplash in kitchen, nice appliances), it is obvious this house needs a lot more work and it's kind of falling apart but it was attempted to make the house generally look nice. Although not concerning to me, there is someone that lives in the basement of this house that can get to and from the house with a keypad to the basement. It's just good to know in case someone isn't used to that. I would not stay here again and would not recommend others if you're used to a nicer look.

Thank you for staying with us and for your review. We're sorry to hear you did not have a pleasant experience. Devastating to read considering these concerns, specifically the spiders, and we really wish you would have reached out during your stay so we would have had the opportunity to assist you. The tenant downstairs is no longer living on the property and has not been there for a year as the tenant was our college aged son who has since graduated. The insurance is through VRBO and it's something we've had to implement because of guests who've booked our home for parties and have destroyed the property. The backyard pool and hot tub were not made available to guests unless booking for 30 days so we can fix it up. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about the surrounding properties that are vacant. The neighborhood is in the middle of a revamp but the immediate neighbors are mostly original neighbors. Our son lived there for three years and never had any issues. Again, thank you for your review.
The bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and the living and dining rooms were well appointed and newly done up. We appreciated all the kitchen supplies. We were able to have our dog, and were able to explore the neighborhood on our walks. The surroundings are alas, down and out, with boarded up homes. However, the location provides easy access to the Strip district and Downtown. Seeing the herd of deer every morning, and often in the evening, was a part of our daily highlight.

Thank you for your kind words and for choosing our home.
We stayed here to visit my daughter for parents weekend and the location was good since we could walk to a lot of things. The neighborhood was a little run down but you are in a city and it is to be expected. Overall great experience
Wadih was very prompt in answering our messages and taking care of our concerns. The house was clean and comfortable. We would stay at this property again.

Family
The house is very roomy, clean, and very well supplied (toiletries, kitchen staples, paper products, etc.) Our only issue was the upstairs bedrooms were too warm and, while we were okay about parking on only the left side of the driveway, the hedge was overgrown and scratched the vehicle and made it impossible to get in and out of the car without moving it.

Short Weekend Stay
When we booked in May, there was no indication that there was a tenant below and that we would not have access to the backyard. We could hear the TV through the door and it was awkward to have the owners son on the property. We would have preferred to have more privacy. It also felt unsafe to have only one exit on the main floor in case of an emergency.
Otherwise the place was comfortable for our needs.

Thank you for your review. The tenant disclaimer is explained in the property description and has been included in the description since we listed the property. We also explain in the property description that access to the backyard is only extended to guests who have booked the property for more than 30 days.
Three of us from various parts of the US met here to visit Pittsburgh and catch a few baseball games. The location is under 2 miles to downtown or the strip...we would walk to where we were going in the morning, then take a Lyft home ($10 to $20 typical, depending on the demand at the time). Beds were comfortable, owners were responsive to questions and easy to work with. Not a lot of shops/restaurants in the immediate area. But if you like hole in the wall diners, I would highly recommend breakfast at Grandma B's just a few blocks away....they will make you feel like a local while you eat a lovely american style breakfast...

Thank you for your kind review and for staying with us! We pride ourselves in offering our guests the very best when they stay with us. We hope to host you again!
First- the host was amazing. Very responsive and helpful. The listing was exactly as described.
Second- location close to the city and easy to maneuver around either by our own vehicle or Uber. There were no issues with the neighborhood- it was very quiet.
Third- and I think really important- it’s hard to find a reasonably priced rental in Pittsburgh with two full bathrooms. This home also had upgraded appliances.
I would recommend this home 1000%!
THANK YOU FOR A GREAT EXPERIENCE!

I will say…
It’s a decent place. Hot tub and pool are not available for others to use unless you pay an extra $1,000. In addition, due to some damages in my end they attempted to charge me and use the coverage for insurance. Which is fraudulent because they’re double dipping. That’s just a reflection of the people they are when they are upset. But that’s okay.

We appreciate your review. The damages you caused to our property were beyond the coverage of the insurance. Use of the pool, hot tub, and backyard are exclusive to guests booking 30+ days and it's made very clear in our listing. You asked us if you could pay for use of the pool and the company that removes the deck covering the pool, and opening it for use, charges us $1,000. You booked our home for ONE guest and held a party which left us stained furniture and linens, ashes around the home, soaked linens and puddles around the home, outdoor furniture inside of the home, and a destroyed bed frame. This is without counting the copious amounts of garbage all over the home, outside, and the hot tub that you used without consent. You trespassed into our garage after repeated requests to please get out of the garage and trespassed into the backyard to use the hot tub without authorization. The charges we added to the stay are in accordance with our policies are not what the insurance paid us for.

Compromised neighborhood
So we booked our stay due to our daughter having a volleyball tournament.
While booking, it would not allow me to register the dates without buying insurance needless to say it was only $80 so we went ahead and paid for it, although it was not an option to not have it!
When we got there, we were extremely shocked of the location.
Beware the location of this property is in an extremely compromised neighborhood where most of the homes are abandoned and boarded up.
The AC for the upstairs does not work it was extremely hot the entire time we were there, the vents are cut in the floor and barely get air coming through.
We left the property clean, dishes, put away, trash, taken out, and now I get a message from the insurance company, saying the owner put a claim because the blinds were broken, and something with the stairs? Absolutely not true.! This is a rip off, find somewhere else to stay!!!!
