Wow….thank you for the review ..we hope to see you again!
Wow! What an adorable place. Better than the pictures. Just out of Julian town, so super quiet and cozy. It has everything you need or want for a very comfortable stay. We were amazed at how busy the town was on the weekend, so if eating out plan early..nobody does takeout during busy hours. Highly recommended this lovely space!
Peaceful beautiful place. Dana is the perfect host. We loved the property and all the animals. We did not want to leave and will definitely stay again.
We had been here a few years ago, under a previous owner. But the new owner is still taking care of things. The facility was wonderful. Clean, comfortable, etc. Lots of snacks provided! And the fowl (chickens, ducks, turkey) are gorgeous. Love this place!
Self-guided serendipitous retreat for Mom and Cooper
This is the second time I have stayed at this very welcoming Cottage with GRACIOUS hosts, Dana and Richard. I felt so at home and there is always particular attention paid to comfort with little details throughout, i.e. : fresh farm eggs, fruit basket, bagels, muffins, etc. as well as a complimentary bottle of wine. Delightful grounds with animals that will entertain you. (All of the chickens have special names!). A very peaceful five days....
an annual retreat for me to relax, read and do art
The hosts on this property are THE GREATEST.....this is may third year visiting here.....I so enjoy the "farm" experience, the cozy cottage and the Friendly and Accommodating hosts.
We spent a wonderful weekend at Full Moon Farm with Dana, Richard, and all their furry and feathered friends. This trip was a gift for my daughter's 18th birthday and we were greeted with a cheery "happy birthday" banner hanging in our room. Dana treated my two teens like they were family. My normally shy or surly teens were happy and totally enjoyed interacting with the animals and learning all about how to play with and care for them. This is the perfect place to get fresh air, fun, and get the kids off their electronics. We stayed in the Storybook barn which was super clean, comfortable and totally well stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay. They also had farm fresh eggs and loads of snacks upon your arrival. Dana definitely knows a thing or two about hospitality! We loved our stay with them and hope to make it back again someday.
Both the property and the hosts were exceptional. My wife and I have stayed at numerous VRBO homes away from home and this one tops them all. The comfort, serenity, cleanliness and added amenities were all top notch. I would highly recommend this property to anyone that inquiries. We look forward to a return visit.
We had a wonderful stay with Dana and Richard! They were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed learning about the animals and daily routines of the farm. Our cottage was clean and comfortable. We felt more like friends visiting than strangers meeting for the first time. We will definitely return!
We decided to take a short, local family trip before heading back to work and to school after the Christmas break. To say that we were fortunate to stay at Story Book is an understatement. It satisfied every item on our list and it was truly difficult to leave on our last day. The hosts are professional and it was evident from the minute that we arrived that they put a lot of time, passion, and effort into the property. Clean, well-stocked, and quiet would best describe the accommodations. We look forward to our return.
We enjoyed this property more than any other. Our hosts, Dana and Richard, provided the personal touches throughout the property which made us feel so welcome. Their animals were wonderful, as we met and learned so much about each one. What a beautiful story book cottage/converted barn, offered everything we could want. We'll be back!
We had a great time staying at the Storybook barn. Our four year old couldn't get enough of the goats, chickens, horses and dogs. We enjoyed the snacks and breakfast items over the weekend.
My husband and our dog have stayed here four times now. There will be more. The environment is quiet and peaceful. The Barn is cozy and reminds me of a quant English cottage tucked away in a quiet countryside. Dana and Richard do everything possible to make your day relaxing. They welcome you with a bottle of wine and a note thanking us for joining them. The cottage is very clean and beautifully decorated. They supply all the pots and pan, cooking utensils, fresh eggs, orange juice and sausage for the breakfast plus much more. Then you can take your coffee/tea outside and listen to the chickens, goats and of course pet their two dogs. Life is good on the farm!!!
The cottage was delightful, everything clean and lovely, the farm enchanting, and the location cannot be beat. But that's not the best part. Dana and Richard are the best! In spite of having work to do (caring for the property and animals (and their own lives) - they were SO available and warm and friendly.
We've rented lots of places, but have never EVER seen the extras they supplied in the kitchen. Eggs, sausage, fruit, condiments, drinks, snacks, etc.
But, still, what amazes me is the incredible hospitality. GREAT
We had a fabulous stay in the Storybook Farm Cottage! It was everything we were hoping for and more! Dana and Richard were wonderful hosts and had thought of everything we could have possibly wanted. The cottage took cozy to new heights and we were welcomed into the surrounding grounds by dogs and horses and a fascinating chicken community! And our hosts were full of interesting tidbits of information about all of their critters and the surrounding places of interest. I was recuperating from a recent knee replacement and can't imagine a cozier place to relax and enjoy the beautiful Julian area....
My wife and I stayed here for a couple nights and loved the setup and location. 3-minute drive to Julian (which was crowded) and Wynola which had some cool little shops and restaurants. Would definitely recommend!
My family had the most amazing time at the storybook cottage. The unit was very well stocked with breakfast, snacks, goodies, essentials.
The bed was very soft which we usually don't like but it was still comfortable!
My 3 years old had a blast roaming the property, seeing the roosters and the chickens, playing in the dirt, and meeting the dogs and horses!
Fantastic location and the host Dana was fantastic with recommendations and helping our little one feed the horses.
I highly recommend and have already forwarded this to many of my friends.
They have 2 cottages on the location so both could be rented to accommodate a larger family.
This is the second time we have stayed at Full Moon Farm. We will be back in January for a third visit. That should tell you how we feel about this very clean and cozy cottage. Dana is wonderful. Thank you.
We love the Story Book Farm! The accommodations were very nice and comfortable, and the hosts were amazing and gracious. We loved the grounds with the chickens, dogs, and even horses. The location was perfect - 1 mile to the heart of Julian. We would definitely stay here again.
The cabin is perfect. We kept the fire going most of stay. The owners are divine and respond to any needs that might be expressed! We are grateful to have come and will come again!
