About this property
Quiet, romantic family cottage, shores of Lake Corrib, Connemara, Co Galway
“Anam-Samh” (= “tranquil soul” in Irish) is a modern, comfortable and tastefully furnished 5-bedroomed family cottage with a conservatory and a living area of 200 square meters, idyllically situated on a secluded 2.5 acre site directly on the shores of Lough Corrib, surrounded by a very large Garden and its own woods at rear. As its name implies the house is an ideal place to get away from it all. With panoramic views of Lough Corrib and the Connemara mountains in the distance, the setting is breathtaking, peaceful and surrounded by nature. Relax and read in front of a cosy log fire; take a stroll through the surrounding countryside go fishing, hill-walking or biking through scenic Connemara or enjoy cinemas, theatre, traditional Irish music etc. It's all on your doorstep.
Out of the Guest Book: What a wonderful week we had! We enjoyed your beautiful house, beautiful country and very kind & helpful people. What a magical place! We will miss the birds, bunnies and other wild life around your lovely home, but we take home many new memories. 21. – 28. July 2007, the McMurry Family, Los Alamos USA *****
How lucky we feel to have chanced upon your lovely home on the internet and to have managed to book it for the week of the wedding of our nephew. It’s in such a beautiful location and we were lucky with the weather. That all in all made our stay really wonderful. 14. – 21. July 2007, Kathy Booth., London, UK

Tranquil, peaceful and above all the calming scenery: Enough to recharge the batteries and more. The weather was very wet while we were here, but your house and the magnificent view gave us rest and made up for it, ten times over. Will definitely be back hail, rain or snow, but hopefully sun shine. 30. June – 7. July 207, the Jonston Family, Downpatrick Ireland
Galway: Galway City is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Ireland. Visitors and students contribute a lot to the life of the City and are welcomed by the Galwegians for doing so. Galway and its surroundings are famous for many festivals from the Film festival (end June), 'Galway Arts Festival' (mid-July), 'Galway Races' (end July) culminating in the famous 'Galway and Clarinbridge Oster Festival' (in September). A free newspaper which contains details of what's happening in the City 'The Galway Advertiser' is published every Thursday and it is worth checking the internet or picking up a copy (available in any newsagent's, if you are quick).
Tourist attractions: The house is ideally situated for trips to the wonderful scenic area of Connemara and Co. Clare. Connemara is a superb fishing and golfing area. Oughterard Golf Club (18 hole Parkland) is only ten minutes away. You may also go on beautiful walks (Connemara Way) and there is wildlife for the keen photographer. Visit Co. Clare e.g. the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren with its spectacular views and the Aran Islands by boat from Rossavael (45 minutes drive from the house).
