I’m glad that overall you were satisfied with the home, the neighborhood, and your stay, but I would like to clarify several facts because some of the comments do not match the reservation history and our actual communication. First, the check-in information was sent to the guest automatically by Vrbo on July 22 at 4:00 PM — exactly three days before the July 25 arrival. The reservation history specifically records: “We sent MJ your arrival information.” That message included the electronic lock code, detailed entry instructions, parking information, check-in time, a landmark to help identify the correct entrance, and my contact information. On July 23, the guest messaged me asking when the check-in information would be sent. Apparently, the automatic Vrbo message had not been noticed or opened. Even though the necessary instructions were already available in the system, I personally sent them again that same day, two days before arrival. For communication, I do ask guests to use text messages. I host guests from many different countries who speak different languages, so written communication allows us to understand each other with the help of translation. Guests may message me at any time and for any reason, and I usually respond quickly. Therefore, presenting this preference as a prohibition on contacting the host, or as a lack of communication, is not accurate. In this case, it appears that the guest simply did not read the instructions carefully enough and did not notice the landmark provided to help locate the correct entrance. As soon as the guest messaged me, I responded immediately and helped them get oriented. Therefore, the suggestion that an inability to call prevented the guest from resolving the check-in issue does not match the actual communication: written contact with me was available, and assistance was provided right away. Regarding the air conditioning, the system is operating properly, and neither before nor after this stay have other guests reported problems with cooling or similar noise. The air-conditioning units are equipped with a condensate removal system, which is a normal part of their operation. Like any air-conditioning system, it is designed to operate with windows and doors closed. During very hot weather, if windows or doors are left open, the system must continuously cool hot outside air, which significantly increases the load on the system and the amount of condensation produced. It is similar to expecting a refrigerator to operate normally with its door left open. Proper operation of the system is especially important during extreme heat. I always try to be available to guests and respond quickly when a genuine issue arises. I also believe it is important that a public review accurately reflect the facts. The check-in information was sent by Vrbo three days before arrival and was personally resent by me two days before arrival. When the guest needed help finding the correct entrance, I responded immediately. The air-conditioning system is functioning properly and continues to operate normally. I’m sorry that, despite the overall positive impression of the stay, these circumstances were presented differently.
