Sunny Side Up is situated on the second floor of the Sunny Side Saloon, a historic building with a rich past. Originally serving as a Union Army Commissary during the Civil War, it later transformed into a cherished local establishment known as the Sunny Side Saloon. Here, JH Kearns once sold his own pre-prohibition whisky, often packaged in ceramic jugs. Located in downtown Lebanon, in the heart of Kentucky, Sunny Side stands proudly on the historic Bourbon Trail.

Perfect landing spot for a weekend in Bourbon County. Quiet, extremely clean and impeccably decorated. Fully stocked with thoughtful essentials. Loved our stay there in a Historic building. Easy check in and convenient onsite parking.
Sunny Side Up looks exactly like the photographs, only more charming in person. The main reason we chose Lebanon was its proximity to Maker's Mark and the Chihuly exhibition, however, it was a perfect home base for distillery tours in Lawrenceburg, Frankfort, Versailles and Cox's Creek. During our stay we were able to shop at the Sunny Side Saloon and have delicious cocktails at the Key Lounge and then walk around the corner to return to Sunny Side Up. It has everything you need for a perfect get away!
We thought the place was absolutely amazing. Also, it was probably the cleanest rental we've ever stayed at. We will definitely stay here again on future visits to Lebanon.

Sunny Side Up Saloon is a great property !! The interior is spectacular with full amenities, location is walking distance to a quaint little town where we enjoyed shopping and an early morning coffee at The School Ground Coffeehouse, and Alexandria was an awesome host. Hoping we have the opportunity to stay again !
This place is a cut above the rest. The location is great for touring the area, but the modern design and clear attention to a bespoke experience make it tough to want to leave. Also, it’s pretty rare that your vacation accommodations are part of the history you’re there to see. Amazing!
We stayed a few nights and it was very comforting. The host has the home set up for you to feel like your home while being on vacation. Everything you need, even things you don’t think of are there. Thank you :)
We came to Lebanon to attend a celebration of like for a family member. It was so nice to have a beautiful and cozy place to debrief and relax. The place has absolutely everything and more you could want or need. Decorate d so chic and beautiful. A lot of thought has gone into this amazing place. The history of the building is worth reading about. We will be back!

Thank so you much for the awesome review! We are so happy you enjoyed the space and can’t wait to have you back!
This is a guests dream stay. The attention to the smallest detail proves your visit is very important to this host. The exquisite design style is beautiful including regional and local history details in art, reading materials and architecture. I feel so privileged to have had the opportunity to stay here. And for the routine details, check in easy, responsive host, excellent parking, detailed stocking of supplies. Location is great for hitting many spots you came to see in the area along with a quaint little town. Fabulous experience.
Sunny Side Up is on the second floor of Sunny Side Saloon, a historic building that served as a Union Army Commissary during the Civil War. Later, it was a local watering hole called Sunny Side Saloon, where JH Kearns sold his own pre-prohibition whisky in ceramic jugs. Sunny Side is located in downtown Lebanon in the heart of Kentucky on the historic Bourbon Trail.
What makes this property unique
Historic downtown Lebanon has charming buildings, restaurants, and local shops that are all accessible by foot from Sunny Side. Several buildings are adorned with murals that make great photographs and selfies. Lebanon even offers a self-guided mural tour.
For those visiting rural Kentucky for the first time, the downtown area is not a 24-hour party scene. It is a quiet destination where shops and restaurants close relatively early. Some are closed on Sundays and Mondays entirely. If you need groceries or a convenience store, you will have to drive (unless you are there when the Farmer’s Marker is open). Our House Manual provides location and contact information for local restaurants, grocery stores, liquor stores, etc… We think you will enjoy what Lebanon has to offer, all from the comfort of a unique historic location!
