The host responded in a timely manner on a few issues we had was very appreciative of that. The house was beautiful and clean, I only have couple of suggestions it seemed that it took quite awhile for the water to get hot in the shower and possibly updated the bar stools.would definitely recommend this place
A group of us (6 couples) came to Georgia to attend the Combat Veterans Associations Nationals in Athens. As a large group we wanted a comfortable place to stay nearby and the Riverhouse in Monroe was perfect! Very spacious, very clean, quiet area and beautiful property and home. We had more than enough space for our large group and we felt right at home. So much so that some have talked about planning another trip to the Riverhouse- especially to check in on the beautiful, sweet local cat that we have named George. George greeted us every day, was not a nuisance at all, and made our stay even more special. We certainly would book the Riverhouse again!
We had a great stay at this home. The layout of the house worked perfectly for us with the bedrooms separated from the living/kitchen areas. The rooms were large and we appreciated all of the seating in the living room. Kitchen was stocked well for making breakfasts. Quiet, peaceful location and not too far from UGA.

Glad that you enjoyed your stay & the home! Would love to have you back sometime.
We used the home for extended family to stay in for my son's wedding in Monroe. It was the perfect location for family to be together. We loved the seclusion for privacy. I would definitely recommend this home. It had everything you'd need.
Rented this home for a weekend wedding at a nearby venue. Property was more than expected. Beautiful piece of property, and ideal location to the venue. Comfortable and roomy.
The house was so much more than we expected. We enjoyed drinking coffee on the enclosed deck each morning. The kids enjoyed the game room and the fire pit area was enjoyed by all of us. Kitchen was well stocked.

Glad to have you! Would love to have you back sometime!
House was beautiful everything was clean when we arrived. Location was great the only negative that I found was the downstairs had an abundance of huge spiders and teeny tiny bugs but it is in the middle of the woods so to be expected but maybe spraying a barrier would help. Thanks Jordan for accomadating my family and hope to be staying with your property again soon!

Jeri- Glad that you enjoyed your stay!
Sorry about your experience with the bugs... we have the house sprayed monthly. We also have the large garage doors that open to the game room. If you leave those up & open, the bugs could come in. We have sprayed again, so should be good! Yes- It is very private & in the middle of the woods.
This is the most beautiful property. It was so clean and well stocked with all our weekend needs. The rooms were spacious and the kitchen was so nice. I wish it wasn’t so hot so we could enjoy the beautiful porch. With that being said the AC kept the house cool with no issues. Our young children enjoyed the game room. Over all this house is perfect for a large family.
I booked this for my family, and 2 other small families with young children, so we had 11 total. Kids ages 5 to 7. This house was exactly what we needed! We came in on a Thursday to relax and unwind with friends and kids. Kitchen and grill were nice and kitchen had everything we needed. Built a fire outside, and let the kids play in the downstairs game room. Outside area is great for kids during the day, but not at night. I recommend getting there during the day, because night travel around this area is dark and streets not well lit. We drove to the UGA game Saturday, about a 25 minute drive. Beautiful drive, seemed very quick. Would stay here again!! Loved it. The game room had a lot of spiders and spider webs, does need to be cleaned. Grocery store isn’t very close to house. But we were prepared for that. Beautiful property! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Thanks a ton Leah! Glad that you enjoyed the home. The game room/downstairs garage is cleaned each time. However, sometimes in the colder months, insects come in through the garage area. Thanks!
This is a beautiful home that is tucked away in the woods behind a small farm. We didn't stay very long, but the home was nice and met our needs.
The negative:
1. It is laid out a bit oddly, with windows in the bedrooms that look into an (very long) interior hallway. This results in light coming in from both sides of the bedroom in the evening as there are windows that face the exterior of the home as well (there are lights in eaves of the home that shine right into the bedroom even with the blinds closed).
2. The AC was a bit finicky. It was the middle of a hot Georgia summer so we needed to turn it down a bit (it was at 76 when we arrived), but the new setting would not take. I kept jumping back up to 76. We eventually figured out how to get the thermostat to keep our setting. Please note: we discovered this late at night, so we did not attempt to contact the host. They may have been able to help.
The positive:
1. This is a really nice home. It has a beautiful kitchen that seems very well stocked with everything you would need to fix meals for the family. We didn't stay long enough to cook any meals, but the appliances and all were in good working order. They even had a crockpot.
2. The bed was actually comfortable.
3. The setting was beautiful. Nice trees and river for the kids to explore, and a nice fire pit area
4. It is a nice escape (very secluded)
5. Shopping is not far away

Bishop- thanks for the review! Would love to have you back sometime. The lights outside the home can be turned off easily. They are landscape lights. I wish that you would have reached out, and we would have told you how! I’ll put these on an auto shut off at night. Thanks for letting me know! Yes- thermostat and AC works great. Likely just a “hold” setting on the thermostat. Glad that you enjoyed everything!
6 night visit for a wedding. Due to wed prep the house was only used to shower/sleep for the 1st 3 days. After that we enjoyed every minute spent at the house with lots including viewing hummingbirds, owls & fawn on the grounds
Pros: Private. Comfy beds/pillows. Nice farm décor. Small touches(blankets on the porch, firewood, spices, dishwasher soap, trash bags) were available-not sure if these are guaranteed as some may be from previous guests. Spacious w/separate sleeping & living wings controlled by separate thermostats
Mostly minor cons: The biggest is huge Bugs! Beetles moths ants, you name it. The external doors need door sweeps. We saw multiple bugs walk freely through the gap between the door & the floor. We took care not to leave doors open. The shared stone/dirt road connecting to the house is a long & may be difficult for smaller/lower cars esp during heavy rain. The dirt settles on the car exterior which may be a problem for car fanatics. 1 BR had a leaky shower head. 1 bedroom door doesn’t lock. Coffee mugs are on the small side. Fine for my 4 adults but another bath is ideal for big groups
Notes: signed risk wavier is needed before check in. Not a big deal but is an extra step to look for. If bugs or taxidermy creep you out, don’t stay here. The light in the laundry room wasn’t working
Overall this was a great stay and I look forward to staying again. Other wedding guests were also impressed and decided to book this house for their next Monroe visit

Radhica-
Glad that you enjoyed your stay! It's a great house. As mentioned in our listing, it is "in the woods", which is why we call it The Riverhouse. There is a river that attracts bugs. However, we spray monthly. It's possible that we sprayed before you arrived, which is why you saw dead bugs come out. Overall, we haven't had people mention that. It's possible that you left the garage doors slightly opened downstairs, which would cause the bugs to enter the house...
Katherine- I don't believe that you meant to leave us a 2-star review with no explanation. After speaking with you, it seemed like you really enjoyed the property. This was possibly an accident! Hope that you enjoyed everything!
