**NEW LISTING** Wellington's Retreat is located in Shallowbag Bay Marina in Manteo, NC. Manteo is a perfect place to visit in the Outer Banks! It is less touristy than places such as Nags Head or Kitty Hawk, but still includes tons of fun things to do and is only a 10 minute drive to Nags Head. It is also just minutes away from Downtown Manteo, which includes a variety of shops and restaurants. The condo has views of the North Carolina sound from every room, which is perfect for watching sunrises and sunsets each day! Striper's Bar and Grill is conveniently located in the same building and is just downstairs, making it a great place to get a meal without going very far at all. The Club House offers a gym and outdoor pool for guests of Shallowbag.

Wonderful stay

We had a great stay at the condo! The view was great, very peaceful in the morning. We sat out every morning and enjoyed the sunrise and watching the boats head out. While the master bath shower is currently not working, there’s a bathroom right outside the door so it wasn’t an issue. Will definitely stay here again if we’re in Manteu.

We had a great stay. The condo is very spacious, comfortable beds, nice community pool area, quiet area, and the views from the balcony are gorgeous! We sat out there every morning with our coffee for sunrise and every evening for sunset. The owner responded right away with any questions we had. Highly recommend!

Located on the Sound in the cute town of Manteo. Great views from all rooms and decks. Decorated fun and colorful. Plenty of space. Beds were comfortable and seating in living space worked nicely for our family. Host responded to questions very quickly. We would definitely stay again and we recommend it.

This condo is in a good location the only downside was have to drag the luggage up the stairs and parking stinks bc of the restaurant. The host was super responsive and very nice

Mixed Experience

While there were a few positive aspects, we encountered several issues that impacted our overall stay. First and foremost, we want to emphasize the importance of thoroughly reading the property listing. Unfortunately, we failed to notice that the master shower and washer were out of order, despite this being mentioned in the listing. It's crucial to pay close attention to these details to avoid any inconvenience. Upon arrival, we noticed that the ice maker and water filter spout at the kitchen sink were also not working. Additionally, the lack of seating in the living area was disappointing, with only one couch and chair provided. This limited the comfort and convenience for our group. The condition of the carpets was a letdown, as they appeared dirty and stained. It diminished the overall cleanliness and appeal of the property. There was no soap provided in the showers, so we had to rely on our own supply. Even the hand soap in the bathrooms was nearly empty, requiring us to add water to retrieve the soap. The beds were exceptionally hard and firm, and the pillows were noticeably flat, resulting in a less than comfortable sleep experience. The TV remotes didn't work because the batteries were wet and corroded. There were light bulbs out over the master bath sink area too. Positives:The views were great, location and restaurant on propoerty! It seemed as though minimal effort was put into ensuring a welcoming and well-prepared environment for visitors.

I'm sorry to hear that you had a mixed experience with our property! I feel as though we have made the listing as clear as possible as far as the master shower and washer being temporarily out of order by not providing pictures of these amenities and including that they are temporarily out of order on the listing. As far as the "lack of seating in the living area," the couch and chair that are in the living room are the exact same couch and chair that are provided in the pictures, so I am unsure what was expected as far as seating space. The pictures provided showed the condition of the carpets as well. I feel as though the majority of issues that you experienced could have been resolved immediately had you reached out and communicated these concerns during your stay. For example, the issue with batteries was immediately resolved when you reached out. Also, the listing does not claim to provide shower products, but there was extra soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, etc. in a basket in the master closet and can be used as needed as well as extra pillows/linens. This is a new listing and we are using all feedback to make the property a better experience for all in the future. Thank you for your review.
