1956 Retro Home Near Rt 66
Enjoy a unique experience at our 3rd generation family homestead. The single story home was built in 1956 replacing the original old farmhouse. Mid-century inspired furnishings enhance the ambiance and sets the atmosphere for your stay on memory lane. Relive special memories of trips to the grandma’s house or create new memories at your home-away-from-home.
The space
The home has three bedrooms and one bath. One bedroom has a queen bed and the others have vintage full size beds. It sleeps 4 adults comfortably or a couple can share a full size bed. Central heat and air keep you comfortable with plenty of blankets. The house is equipped with all bedding, linens, towels, hair dryer and soaps.
The living room equipped with a Roku TV and DVD player, opens to the eat-in kitchen that is well equipped with vintage kitchen items. There is a modern single serve and regular coffee pot, microwave as well as all the appliances you’ll need for your stay. Just bring some groceries and we’ll have the basic pantry items.
Enjoy morning coffee on the back porch or use it as a quiet office work space. Relax and make yourself at home breathing in the fresh country air on the back patio or front porch. Catch a view of wildlife, fish the pond, enjoy the view of the creek, go for a hike then enjoy some other nearby adventures.
Other things to note
We’re close to Route 66, scenic rivers, natural springs and caves located in the central Missouri Ozarks about 80 mile East of St. Louis. There are so many things to do nearby. Trout fish at Meramec Springs, take a float trip on the river, tour Onondaga Cave and Meramec Caverns. Take a tour of the St. James Winery and see the grape fields of our own little mid-west wine country.
Our closest town, Cuba is rich in character and small town friendliness. The Native American history is displayed at the visitor center. Take a walk through town and learn the local history beautifully told by talented artists through 21 murals dubbing Cuba the Mural City.
Should you decide not to enjoy your own home cooking at the house, this diverse rural area has a variety of food choices including Mexican, Chinese, Homestyle, Mennonite Bakery, BBQ, Angus Steaks, Seafood and list goes on.
