Things to know about this location:
The cabin is located along the border of the Shenandoah National Park for those who want to make the drive to Virginia’s famous mountain trails. In Stanley there is also easy access to a plethora of trails for all your hiking dreams. The wildlife roams amongst the trees and bushes to watch to your heart’s desire.

This cabin is at the top of a mountain; 4x4 or AWD is required Oct-Apr, and tire chains are a plus.
The driveway is steep; vehicles without AWD or 4x4 must park at the top of the driveway or back down. Otherwise, if you get stuck and damage the driveway, there will be an additional charge of $50.

For your safety: carbon monoxide alarms, and smoke alarms are installed. Very young children, or those who get very excited should be watched carefully as the porch in the back is high and the staircase is long.

Wildlife: Please be aware that wildlife is just that, wild! They are not tame and can be potentially dangerous. Please use caution when you are admiring the animals that may grace the property and surrounding areas. If you see a predator, stay indoors until it moves on. Please do not leave food unattended outside, especially at night.

WINTER POLICY - We usually close for the winter but have decided to give guests an opportunity to visit during this season. We will close the calendar for dates expecting inclement winter weather and will allow guests to cancel up to 24 hours ahead, with no penalty, if it is due to incoming snow or ice. You MUST HAVE 4X4 or All Wheel Drive during the winter months. Tire Chains are also a must if there is snow on the ground.

Our favorite vacation spot!
Brenda has hosted us twice already this year. My girlfriend and I enjoyed it so much the first time, we brought our family back with us. We absolutely love her cabin and the town. It is always clean, stocked and peaceful. She is so accommodating and kind. We hope to continue our stays with her as a tradition! If you’re staying here, remember that Hawksbill diner has the best food and service. Thank you Brenda!!!!

A must stay!
This was the best Vrbo we have ever stayed at. We are avid travelers and love visiting new states. We have stayed all over the country and this is by far the best stay we have ever had. The house was extremely clean and had every amenity we could ask for during our week stay. We adored the vintage decor and appliances as it gave us that classic mountain getaway experience. We enjoyed sitting by the fire pit at night and looking at the stars. You can see everything out there! The roads were a bit tricky as we are up in the mountains so be sure that you have a car that can handle steep inclines. Lastly, big shout out to the Hawksbill Diner down the mountain from the house. It was the BEST, freshest food we have ever had and the prices were dirt cheap. All the people were insanely kind too! Thank you for our stay!!!

I'm a mom of 5 and a transplant to VA. I came down here for college from NH and decided to stay. I do miss the winters of NH but love the rolling hills and people of VA. My husband and I decided to try our hand at hosting a short term rental. I really enjoy it so far. It is my goal to make every experience a great one.

Why they chose this property

One of the best things about this neighborhood is the abundance of outdoor activities and natural beauty that surrounds the cabin. You'll be just a short distance from hiking trails (you're welcome to hike the road you traveled up!), wildlife watching, and a outdoor seating allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the area.

What makes this property unique
