Relax in quiet and complete privacy warming yourself by the cozy fire inside or on the large deck gazing up at the stars in the private hot tub, surrounded by forest. The two story high windows bring you close to nature as you look out at forest, mountains, and alpine fields. Upper deck off of the loft bedroom has gorgeous sunset colors in the evening. Drift off to sleep in very comfortable queen sized beds with nice linens and plenty of comforters to snuggle in.In the loft, gaze at stars through skylight. Located a mere 85 miles from Denver and 20 miles from Breckenridge, this bright, cozy, updated home offers a very private, quiet escape for a romantic get-away, family gathering, or group of up to five people. Email us for more photos, and be sure to read our reviews to get a better feel for this special property.
The newly remodeled log cabin is on two heavily wooded acres and backs to 35 acre undeveloped parcels, providing complete privacy. It has a sunny, open floor plan. The home features a spacious loft bedroom upstairs with a skylight for star gazing from your very comfortable queen sized bed, and a private balcony. Quality linens, cozy comforters, and plenty of throw blankets in all bedrooms help ensure a good night's sleep . Dressers in every bedroom make it easy to unpack and make yourself at home. There are two bedrooms on the main level. The master bedroom has a very comfortable queen bed, and the small bedroom has a comfortable 8' double size bunk bed. The living room offers hard wood floors, a new wood burning stove with a large glass front to view the fire, and a two story vaulted ceiling with big windows providing outstanding views and to surround the home in warm, natural sunlight. It opens onto a large deck with a six person hot tub to enjoy the amazing mountain views. Although the cabin has a rustic feel, the tastefully decorated cabin is very comfortable and updated. The fully equipped kitchen with new appliances, granite tile counter tops, and wood island provides all you will need to prepare gourmet meals. The travertine tiled bathroom has a bathtub with yet another window with a view! Create your own adventure exploring the two wooded acres, or walk a short distance to National Forest trails. Snowshoe, ski, hike or bike right from the cabin, and try out the sledding hill! Be sure to walk to the alpine meadow to treat yourself to one of the best alpenglow displays in Colorado….you’ll have mountains surrounding you in every direction! You’ll often see elk, deer, and even moose if you take a stroll at sunrise or sunset.
If you decide to stay in, the cabin has everything you’ll need to relax…music (cd player/stereo and a guitar), books, games, and videos. If you can pull yourself away from the warm glow of the fire and star filled sky (no light pollution to obstruct them!), there are some wonderful restaurants, shops, wine tasting, galleries, and live music in the town of Fairplay, just minutes away. Classes in art, jewelry making, and beading are available in town. The nearby historic ghost town of South Park can be visited summer-autumn. The charming Victorian town of Breckenridge, known for its world class skiing, is full of restaurants, shops, and night life, and is just 25 minutes away. It also has a full cultural program in the summer with wonderful outdoor concerts. Cottonwood Hot Springs are a short drive away. Aspen Vista is open year round for you to enjoy a quiet retreat in all seasons. If you are looking for something for the kids to do in warmer weather, they'll love the big playground, skate park and sandy 'beach' in Alma just about 10 minutes away.
This is our family cabin that we only rent when we are not using it, so it should have everything you need for a very peaceful and comfortable stay. We love the cabin and area and are happy to offer lots of information about the surrounding area that only locals know about (special trails, unique fishing spots, etc).
NO SMOKING OF ANY TYPE IS ALLOWED IN CABIN OR ON PROPERTY.

About the host

We love the mountains, outdoor adventure, and peace & quiet. We found all of these things at the Aspen Vista. It is incredible to find a spot that is so secluded and private. We have spent endless week-ends exploring the rocky mountains the last 15 years, and when we saw this property, we knew in an instant this was the spot we wanted to spend our free time. With every week-end, we discover a new trail and new adventure. It is amazing to us how much there is to do in the area...and how wonderful it is to do nothing but enjoy the peace and tranquility of the cabin, maybe just taking a stroll amid the mountains surrounding the alpine field or throwing some horse shoes.
Why they chose this property
We traveled around Colorado for over 10 years before deciding on this unique cabin and area. It's wonderful for outdoor adventure in all seasons. From the door you can have fun biking, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, sledding and never have to get in your car. We love all the wildlife we see nearly every visit (elk, deer, and once even a moose)! We love the Colorado outdoors, and this is the perfect place to enjoy so many adventures without crowds. We have spent endless week-ends exploring the rocky mountains the last 15 years, and when we saw this property, we knew in an instant this was the spot we wanted to spend our free time. It is amazing to us how much there is to do in the area...and how wonderful it is to do nothing but enjoy the peace and tranquility of the cabin, maybe just taking a stroll amid the mountains surrounding the alpine field or throwing some horse shoes. This is truly a little slice of heaven.
What makes this property unique
Although our lot is two acres, the lots around us are 35 acres and untouched (and national forest on the other side of those!), so we get access to miles of open space outside our door! You will not find a another spot this quiet.
