Watch the dolphins play as the sun rises each morning over the "Flying Tiger Inn." Enjoy the panoramic oceanfront views from inside the beach house or from the spacious oceanfront decks, the highest in the vicinity. Over the dune and down the stairs relax on your own quiet gorgeous newly nourished beach to bathe on endlessly! It's 10 yards from the beach nestled in a peaceful area, yet within minutes of just about everything!

The elevator is a God-send when it comes to limited mobility, luggage, and groceries. The first level master bedroom bath is handicapped friendly; Bath is tiled, Shower is a no lip roll in shower to accommodate a wheel chair. It has lots of grab bars, a fold down seat in the back, and a shower head wand. The toilet is at handicap height with grab bar. The sink is connected to the wall to accommodate a wheel chair to pull in underneath it. (Home is not ADA compliant although it has handicap accessible features) There is a portable playpen for the little one.

Furnished and lighted oceanfront decks with an out door hot tub for 8 you can catch an early morning sunrise or a picturesque sunset at dusk, or that big ole' Carolina moon lighting up the ocean! For your privacy we have fireproof, sound proof walls.

With the "Flying Tiger Inn" situated at milepost 17 it affords our guests some wonderful pleasures; such as, the ability to walk to the fabulous new Jennette's Pier with NC Aquarium and live animals. Or, enjoy a jog on the beach, walk or bike ride on miles of access path which will prove pleasing to all. Surf fish in front of the cottage or fish for dinner with the kids on the nearby piers. Take advantage of the world class marinas and fishing charters. Bodie Island Lighthouse, Jockeys Ridge National Park, historic quaint Manteo, the fabulous Aquarium, and Roanoke Island are all close by. There is hang-gliding, outlet shopping, go-carts, putt-putt, movies, live theater, ferry riding, arcades, fabulous restaurants, kayaking, deep sea fishing, and just about any water sport you want.

PERFECT SUMMER STAY

The 4 bathes and 5 bedrooms was great for space for several families to stay. Being right on the beach is super convenient.

Perfect location, right on the beach. The house was not clean, just because it is a pet rental doesn’t mean it cannot be cleaner. The elevator was a lifesaver for us. The realty company responded promptly to messages. Overall, it was the perfect spot for our family. They have more than enough pots, pans, Tupperware, serving plates and dishes. You will need to bring anything else needed for the kitchen. Clean bed linen and towels were provided. There were plenty of extra blankets if needed.

The house was fine, nothing really stands out about it. It's a nice house on the beach with an elevator. I'm assuming that the people before us had a dog as dog hair was in the cushions of the couch and in the corners and on some of the bedding. The furniture was probably last updated in the late 90's early 2000's. Also, they seemed to be having an ant problem the week we were there, nothing to bad, just a few here and there. But we were there for the beach, not so much the house.

Pros were location, amazing views, good space, inside was clean, and the elevator and no threshold shower were lifesavers for my mobility challenged mom. Beds were pretty comfy as well - you never know what you will get in terms of a mattress in rentals but these were good. Cons: Outside of the house was a mess with toys, broken boogie boards and rusted deck chairs. I ended up trying to stack everything I could under the house neatly, but left the rusty deck chairs where they were in fear of needing a tetanus shot. Other cons were the house in general needs maintenance on a lot of small things. One burner in the kitchen was out, some wall outlets did not work, medicine cabinet in upstairs bathroom did not close properly, windows rusted shut, etc. All of these are small things and something to consider if these things will bother you. We enjoyed our stay overall and do not regret renting the property.

Spider eggs on side of the bedroom door frame, mold on the shower curtains, stove burners were black/burnt (every time we used the stove, it smelled like something was burning), feet were black within a few minutes of arrival and walking around upstairs. Some wood on the balcony steps was coming up too.Overall a good place and would stay again, but I highly suggest the cleaning be investigated or a new company take this part over.Also, worked out great for a family member who is in a wheelchair!!

Bonus was a crib and two high chairs (one of the reasons we chose this place). Somewhat outdated, but it sad clean and there is lots of seating. Two decks are nice. Only thing missing was a walkway to the beach, so we ended up leaving most of our best out just before going down the dunes. Good fit for our 9 family members. Dog friendly.

Nice place to stay

We enjoyed our stay at Flying Tiger Inn a lot as it was reasonably priced and fit all the needs of our family. However, a few suggestions for improvements to be made to optimize the stay for guests. Better beach access: no stairs or structure to maneuver to go to and from the beach. The stairs need some cleaning of weeds and possible poison ivy growing. Lastly, having a TV in every bedroom. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay! Thank you for the comfortable vacation.
