Cozy cottage near the beach

Great cottage with everything you need for a fun and relaxing time in Harbor Country. You'll love the updates, good communication with the host, and all the great amenities -- especially the short walk to the beach!

Third Coast Vacations was a joy to stay with. They not only made the process seamless but kept us informed along the way and provided suggestions for activities nearby (HIGHLY recommend the Black Currant coffee and donut shop). The space was cozy and equipped with plenty of blankets and towels. There were even welcome snacks! A very nice and personal touch. For any seeking to travel with a dog, I would warn against allowing your dog to walk in the yard of the property to the right of this rental. The owners specifically requested that we keep our dog off their property after our dog was seen peeing on the edge of their property line. There’s not an actual grassy lawn for this property and not a lot of non-yard areas to take your pet for bathroom breaks. Even though we did our best to be respectful of everyone’s lawns (cleaning up after our pet and obviously not allowing our pet to wander beyond the perimeter of the yards) we were still confronted.

Sweet place with funky vibe

We have stayed here before and it's lovely with a fenced in yard. Just pay attention to those pesky details like no flowers left by previous guest that had seen better day, repair the swing chaise in front and make sure guests know the heating system in the back.

Cute house for a weekend getaway

Overall, the house was decent and we had a good stay. It wasnt perfect, and the online pics made it look a little better than it is.that being said, the lower level updates are very nice, and it is apparent that it is a work in progress. We would definitely stay here again. It was close to the beach and a nice neighborhood to walk our dogs in as well. Proximity to othwr towns was also great.

Beautiful location

We loved the location of Anchor on Alice. We took many walks on the beach and around the neighborhoods. The house was surface cleaned but for what was charged as a cleaning fee I would expect a deep cleaning. The family room was a very comfortable area. We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to go back to Union Pier.

Excellent Location for a Quaint Vacation

The accommodation were very close to Lake Michigan and the activities we wanted to do on our stay. As a family we wanted to kayak, horseback trail ride through the woods, and enjoy the lake in a quaint and quiet location. The amenities were well kept up in the house. The second bedroom and master bedroom were switched from the diagram however it was nice to have two bedrooms and two bathrooms for our three person family. The renovations that were complete were wonderful! Thank you for a well kept vacation location!

Exactly What We Needed

The owner was super fast and responsive via text. We wanted a spacious spot that had a fireplace/fire pit, close to the lake, with room for multiple adults, our toddler, and a dog...and this location was exactly what we needed. The living area being in the back area was a perfect layout so the adults could stay up late playing board games without waking the toddler in the other room. The kitchen was plenty stocked with supplies we needed to make breakfast/meals.

Peaceful Union Pier

We love the Union Pier community, and this property was set in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. It was just a short walk to the private beach. We enjoyed being able to bring our dog and take her to the beach in the morning and evening. The property was decorated quite charmingly and as pictured in listing. The physical condition of the property could use some TLC. Also important to consider for older guests or those with mobility issues, the king bedroom is on the lower level and down 4 stairs. There is no bathroom on that level. There are also numerous steps down to the beach. We enjoyed shopping for our groceries at Barney's in New Buffalo. Their fried chicken makes a nice picnic. We also really enjoyed Emma Hearth in Bridgman. We brought steaks with the intention to grill, but it appears that a prior guest grilled too close to the home and the siding was slightly melted in that spot, so we opted to cook them inside. We enjoyed relaxing in the small courtyard off the lower level and sitting in the front fenced year. The little porch was also quite comfortable.
