With a private cross-country ski and hiking trail on property, an award-winning ski center only minutes away, a variety of summer festivals around the area, and breathtaking fall foliage, Fayston Barn provides a year-round escape from the daily grind.
Sitting on 40 acres in Fayston, Vermont, Fayston Barn was built on property that has been in the owner’s family for over 55 years. Completed in 2009, the home was designed by award-winning architect  Peter Kurt Woerner. Traditional on the outside, the home’s interior has a more contemporary feel, with large windows in almost every room to capture the majestic beauty of the Vermont mountains and countryside.
The home comfortably accommodates 12 people. It is suitable for rental in all seasons,  featuring radiant heating under its wide-planked pine floors for winter cold and central air conditioning for warmer weather.

Holiday Family Ski Trip

Fayston Barn is a lovely and very comfortable mountain house with a modern, high-end buildout that is very family friendly. It is close enough to Waitsfield and Sugarbush for easy access to restaurants/shops and skiing, yet remote enough to feel removed from the holiday crowds. We had a truly wonderful stay.

Epic Stay!

Amazing stay at the Fayston Barn. We were blessed with 22 inches of snow upon arrival, making our ski strip as good as could be. The house was great. Comfortable, clean, and well appointed. And, great radiant heating throughout the house! (It was a high of 0 degrees most days, and negative at night). We can't wait to find some time to come back-

Spectacular House/ Breathtaking Views

We were in the area for a friend's daughter's wedding and wanted to stay together, cook, laugh and have a great time- and that is exactly what the Fayston Barn provided. Very comfortable accomodations- plenty of space. We loved the theater in the lower level and the firepit out back. Kitchen was very well appointed. We had wonderful weather which made the views from every room truly breathtaking. We enjoyed the history of the property and walking the trails on property as well as finding so many great hikes close by. Thank you Chet and Patti for allowing us into your home and making it so welcoming. An amazing property in a wonderful location to enjoy the beauty that is VT in the fall.

Remarkably special home

What a special beautiful place to stay — every detail has been thought of (like having fat wood out for the fire place), and everything just worked. Owners/managers were super responsive (not that we really needed anything). Views from every bedroom are unreal. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Amazing Home/property

Totally blew away all our expectations! Absolutely first class accommodations on a "stunning" piece of property. The hosts have thought of everything! Tastefully done, High End finishes, But with the warmth and cozy feeling of home. Wonderful art displayed, which adds to both the history of the hosts and their design of their spectacular home! we have stayed at many houses in VT over the years and this one was hands down the best one yet. Chet was terrific and so was Patty the caretaker. You won’t be disappointed.

The house was wonderful and worked perfectly for our family (6 adults and 2 babies). Nicely designed, comfortable, well appointed, and thoughtfully equipped “chef’s” kitchen. Other than (of course) consumables the house had everything we needed/wanted for our stay. Attentive owner and readily accessible caretaker down the road. Total privacy. Close to shopping, restaurants, and a grocery store.

Amazing holiday!

We spent a week at Fayston Barn with two families to explore the area and ski and had a fantastic time. The house is gorgeous inside and out, beautifully furnished and equipped with everything one could ever wish for. The kids enjoyed the game room as well as the spacious back yard. As adults, we enjoyed the amazing view over the mountains, watching movies or cooking in the Chef type kitchen. The house is well located, only a short drive away from nearby skiing and villages for shopping and restaurants. The owner Chet was also very responsive and help was available whenever needed. It was all over a prefect holiday and we look forward to coming back!

WOW! What a home!. Stunning views of the mountains, superior appointments throughout the entire home. Great floor plan. Very, very comfortable. Would recommend this home to everyone who comes to the Mad River Valley area. Kitchen has everything. Basement area is great, too. Like the fact there are 2 Master's and for those of you with children, the bunk bed room is perfect. We and our guests rate this home Excellent +. Just have to see it to believe it!
