You'll enjoy spacious bedrooms with connecting full bathrooms, a kitchen with real granite countertops and stocked utensils, 500 Mbps internet, and smart TVs in every room. Plus, a laundry room adds convenience. Indulge in comfort and style at our exceptional retreat.

You have the entire place to yourself. Both bedrooms have smart TVs and nice medium-stiffness memory foam mattresses, so you can have a good night's rest. Both vanities are new and one has a real granite countertop. Both bathrooms have a closet in or nearby for extra towels during your stay.

The primary bedroom features a king bed with a medium-stiffness memory foam mattress, a smart TV, and a connecting full bathroom. The second bedroom has a full bed, another smart TV, and its own connecting full bathroom. The living room sofa bed provides additional sleeping space, accommodating up to 6 guests total.

The living room is equipped with comfortable couches, and our design team has made sure to make this home as cozy as can be. The kitchen comes fully equipped with real granite countertops, a Keurig coffee maker, blender, toaster, baking sheet, wine glasses, and all the cooking basics — pots, pans, oil, salt, pepper, dishes, and silverware.

For work and streaming, you'll have 500 Mbps Wi-Fi plus an Ethernet connection, smart TVs in every room, a dedicated laundry room with washer/dryer, drying rack, and iron, and a bidet (rare find in the US market). There's also a walk-in closet and additional clothing storage for longer stays.

Central air conditioning and heating, ceiling fans, and all the essentials — towels, bed sheets, soap, toilet paper, pillows, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, shower gel, and extra pillows and blankets — are provided. Free parking on premises (2 driveway spaces) plus free street parking, luggage drop-off allowed before or after check-in, and smart lock entry with a passcode sent before arrival.

We are pet-friendly at $25/night per pet, with $50 covering the first 2 nights and additional nights billed separately. The single-level home makes it easy for pets to navigate. We welcome long stays AND we have other properties in the area! Shoot us a message if you want to stay in the area, and this house is not available, or you want something a bit different.

For exploring the area, you're close to Old Salem Museum & Gardens (step into history at this beautifully restored Moravian town), Bailey Park (a vibrant downtown green space perfect for picnics and food trucks), Historic Bethabara Park (nature trails and 18th-century village charm), Washington Park (dog-friendly trails and playgrounds for all ages), Safari Nation (indoor fun for kids with bounce houses and arcade games), and Hathaway Park (splash pad and picnic spots for sunny afternoons).

Make sure to NOT lock the front door while you are out. If you do, then you will have to call to have me remotely unlock the door. Also, do not unplug the door lock wifi connector, or we will not be able to remotely unlock the door for you if there are any last-minute issues.

We are based only 15 minutes away, but you likely will not see me during your stay. We are nearby though if you need anything!

Very easy check-in procedure, and both the air conditioning and heat work fantastically. Quiet and friendly neighborhood. Extremely pet-friendly. Communication was very quick and easy with William.

Beautiful place and very clean. Great communication with the host,William. We had to stay for almost a week while my dad had to be in the hospital, and we needed an additional night, unexpectedly, and William went above and beyond to assist us for the extra night. Great place and location, and convenient to the hospital, only 9 minutes away. There were a couple of things that I passed along to William, that needed fixed (possible adjustment on the water heater with hot water only lasting about 2 minutes, need a remote for bedroom tv) so I'm sure he got right on it. Would absolutely stay here again.

We were in town for our daughter's law school graduation, so the location to Wake Forest was fine. While we appreciate the beds being comfortable & the property being clean, this property barely has any supplies...4 plates, 4 cups? No coffee creamer, no Kleenex. The property has a smell to it...not of smoke, but of something sprayed on couches & the pillows on the couches...it is a perfumey smell, but not in a good way. It almost makes you sick after a while. Perhaps this can be fixed with a discussion with cleaning crew? There is only hot water in the shower for the 1st minute or two, then it gets cold.Property backs to a main street, so it is noisy.Host very communicative. "Rules", such as remove your shoes while in the property, and no food or drink in the bedrooms seem unreasonable. I think most people would like to be able to bring a bottle of water into bedroom at night & have on bedside table. We do appreciate the property being available, as property booked with other rental company cancelled on us only a month prior to graduation.

Thank you for sharing your feedback and for staying with us during such an important occasion. We’re glad you found the property clean, the beds comfortable, and appreciated our communication. Regarding supplies, we do provide the basics such as coffee, and we leave it to our guests’ discretion to bring items like creamer or other preferences. As for the house rules, please know that water is certainly allowed in the bedrooms, our intent is to avoid food or drinks that could cause stains, while water, even if spilled, does not. We truly appreciate you letting us know about the hot water issue. It was recently fixed, and we’ll follow up with maintenance again to ensure it remains consistent. On the note of location, the property is near downtown as stated, so some traffic noise is expected, though we do our best to maintain comfort inside. We value your comments about the scent and supplies, and we’ll review these with our cleaning crew and team to improve the experience further despite this is the first time we had such complaint. Please know we did our best to provide proper comfort during your stay, and we’re grateful for your input to help us continue enhancing the property.

Wonderful neighborhood

The home was great for what we needed. Minor things that we found needs repair on arrival. Made owner aware. Should be fixed! Could use more towels on site. Overall a great experience. Would definitely go back!

Hospital Visit

We were there in support of a family member who was having surgery at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. The property was clean, neat, and conveniently located within about 10 minutes of the hospital. When our family member had to stay an extra night in the hospital, our host demonstrated great flexibility and responsiveness while facilitating an extension to our stay. We will use this property again as the need arises.

One of the least pleasant rentals I’ve ever used

The house smelled like cigarette smoke. Whether it was from a previous guest or the neighbor who was smoking outside near the house I don’t know. But it smelled. Cigarette smoke is a deal breaker for me. But we had nowhere else to go because we were here for family weekend at WFU and everything was booked. I told the owner and he said it was impossible that it smelled like smoke because his housekeeper would have told him. So many other issues. 1) Place was dirty. I have photos to show the dirt and dust on the window A/C unit where the air would blow in; filth on the window sills; dirty baseboards; moldy shower curtain liner; dirty utensils; cobwebs and filth around the entrance; dirty walls. The sheets were jersey so it was hot. There were lots of flies inside. Lots of moths b/c the window A/C units left a gap so insects could fly in. Bare minimum towels and even though I asked for more the owner never responded. Dishes had been put away wet. Not just damp but dripping wet. The kitchen is NOT fully stocked. We had to buy our own Clorox wipes to clean up so I would feel comfortable staying there. Honestly I am not even confident that the beddings had been washed. I NEED a place to be clean, and I CANNOT deal with cigarette smoke odor. So you can imagine my desperation at having stayed despite these many issues. The neighborhood is nice but this place needs a deep cleaning and better customer service. I DO NOT recommend.

The cleaners were at the property right before you arrived and they always report smoke smell. It seems the neighbor caused this becuase someone was smoking outside. The cleanliness is simply not true and id there was anything inside the house that was not perfect, if you report it upon arrival like the house check says we send cleaners to fix it

About the host

Host profile image
I grew up here, my family is here, and this is still home for me. I wanted to create a place I'd genuinely want to stay in myself and feel good about sharing with people when they come to visit. Over time, my partner Jenn has joined me in supporting this vision, and it's become something we do together. When I chose this home, I spent time here and put a lot of thought into making it a place that feels comfortable and easy to enjoy. I enjoy creating spaces and experiences for people, so we've focused on the details, from the furniture to the art on the walls to having TVs in the bedrooms, with the goal of making it feel comfortable and homey while you're here. We put this guide together because we've found some great spots around here and wanted to share them with you so you can check them out while you're visiting. I'm a big foodie and enjoy being outdoors, so these are some of our favorite spots. We hope you get to explore a few of them while you're here and enjoy them as much as we do. Have a great stay. If you need anything, just reach out. We're happy to help. Welcome to Comfy Cottage. — Will

Why they chose this property

We chose this neighborhood because it's safe, family-oriented, and quiet — the kind of place where people walk up and down the street in the evening and you actually feel comfortable letting the dog out back. The road is low-volume, the homes are good quality, and you're minutes from everything that matters in Winston-Salem: Novant Health Hospital, Hanes Mall, Wake Forest University, and a wide variety of restaurants. It's the perfect spot for medical travelers, small families, and long stays.

I think you'll enjoy this neighborhood like my partner and I have.

— Will

What makes this property unique

We chose this neighborhood because it's the perfect balance of quiet and convenience — close enough to the hospitals, Hanes Mall, and Wake Forest University to make every errand quick, but far enough from downtown to feel like a real retreat. The home itself is single-level (no stairs to navigate), which makes it easy for pets, kids, and anyone who wants a simpler stay. The primary bedroom features a king bed — rare for a 2BR in this market — and both bedrooms have their own connecting full bathrooms, which is also rare for a 2BR. And the bidet — a rare find in the US market — is one of those small touches that makes a big difference.

I'm for quality over quantity in all things I do professionally, and I think you'll find this home is just what I describe as a joy to be in — at least for myself. I think and hope you'll agree.

— Will
