Rural Vermont with internet and Smart TV, cell phone works, Dogs welcome.
This 1000 square foot home is located midway between Washington and Chelsea, Vermont. One of the few places I have ever been where you can go hours without hearing a man made noise. The main bedroom is on the second floor and includes a king size bed and two twin beds. A small full bathroom ,living room, kitchen and dining table are located on the first level. We also added an outdoor shower in 2025. A sun porch is attached to the living room with a futon. Propane heat as well as a wood stove are also on the first level. Both stove and refrigerator are gas. There is a spring fed wildlife pond with a sand beach section and fire pit adjacent to the home. Parking is available for multiple vehicles. The Town of Washington Clough Cemetery is just up the hill from the house and worth a visit. It is very small and we mow it. About once a year family members visit and pay respects to those interned there, please be respectful if someone visits. I have only seen one visit in the last 2 years so a visitor during your stay is very unlikely unless it's Memorial Day. The closest local store is the Washington Village Store about 3 1/2 miles away and has most all the basics, plus a walk in beverage cooler! Also Will's store in Chelsea has some basics. Nearby attractions within one hours drive include Barre, Montpelier, Woodstock, Quechee, Waterbury, Norwich, Stowe, Burlington, and Waitsfield.

A perfect stay! Beautiful property, thoughtful hosts and a plus that we could bring our dog with us. He loved the pond and having so much room to run around. We wll be back again and again!
This is a nice little house to stay in, we came for a few nights. The yard and surrounding property is beautiful and well maintained. It sits just off a long and fairly quiet back road.
We had a wonderful stay. The property and the surrounding are is just beautiful, and for two people, the cabin is perfectly comfortable. Exactly as advertised. Pretty remote, but that's what we were going for.
Our stay was amazing. This house is so peaceful and quiet. Our whole family including the dogs are ready to go back!! The hosts are amazing thanks again!!!
My wife and I stayed for a long weekend along with our dog and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is extremely peaceful and private, there is very little traffic on the road. The owners are very responsive, and Gary was extremely helpful when I had some car trouble on the day we were leaving. Highly recommended!
The house is a cute New England cottage with everything you need. It’s very comfortable and clean and not far to Norwich. The hosts are great, very friendly and easy to communicate with.
Property was exactly as described. The setting is remote and very private. But easy to get to small towns with general stores. About a half an hour from Barre. The property is very well organized and is very clean. Exceptionally comfortable. Outdoor shower is an added bonus. Our dog was happy to hike the many paths up the hill behind the house. Excellent communication with host.
This house is like a cabin but with all the amenities. It's located on a good ole Vermont dirt road. It has a beautiful pond, a firepit and everthing needed for a quiet get-a-way. The listing was very complete with all of the things you need to know.
We had a magical experience here. The yard was beautiful, with blooming flowers, butterflies, and hummingbirds. The home was charming, clean, and very comfortable. The location was private, with a bunch of farms nearby. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay. At home, we deal with a lot of noise. This lovely location gave us the quiet and solitude we wanted and needed. The owners were very kind and helpful! If seeking rest in a tranquil spot, stay here!

This couple was a great fit for our rustic, simple and remote property. In meeting them on their arrival and orienting them to the property,I felt that this property met their expectations. I will be reconnecting with them for more feedback. I am thankful that this couple was our first awesome guest!
Great little place to unwind and get away from everything. The house is beautiful when you walk in and the kitchen has pretty much everything you need to make a dinner and relax with some games. Traffic is pretty minimal we heard maybe 3 cars go by our entire stay. Overall if you are looking for a place to leave the hustle of normal life and relax for a quiet weekend then this place is perfect for you.
This rental is the ideal place for a getaway that is peaceful and calming! My husband and I, along with our two dogs, enjoyed our stay immensely. We loved feeding the fish in the pond and walking the area around the house into the woods and back. If you enjoy peaceful places, listening to birds and connecting with the natural world this place is for you. We enjoyed this welcoming cottage. This is a wonderful place to soak in the peacefulness. I loved that it was like stepping into another realm where life is simpler. Sleeping was made easy with that comfortable king bed that had a wonderful mattress. We look forward to spending time there again.

Not every guest understands the rural Vermont experience, it is special and like very few places and I am so glad you enjoyed it.
We really enjoyed our stay here, this is the ideal location for a Vermont getaway! The cabin was very well kept, cozy, and offered everything we needed. It is in a secluded, very peaceful area. There are cows and a maple syrup farm right down the road. Gary and Dede were wonderful hosts who stopped by to welcome us (unfortunately we were running behind and missed them). They made our entire stay very relaxing, checking in/out was very easy, and they even dropped off apples that they handpicked from their apple tree!
If you're looking to get away, as we were, this spot is truly quiet, with wonderful wildlife passing through, thanks partly to the spring-fed pond near the house. There is easy access to nearby towns Chelsea and Washington. We also traveled easily to Barre and Montpelier. The hosts are responsive and friendly. Everything was better than advertised. We'll be coming back.
