This home is within walking distance to town and Montpelier neighborhoods which was ideal for visiting family during the holidays. It was so nice to have a private, clean and restful place to return to at the end of each day.
We enjoyed our stay, primarily because of how responsive and accommodating Sarina, as well as the property manager Rebecca, were. They took care of an issue we noticed with the heat very promptly, and when we needed to travel in a potential ice storm, Sarina was very flexible in allowing us to stay longer to wait out the poor conditions. Thank you so much!
This was our first family vacation to Vermont, and we chose River St House duplex in Montpelier as our base for a week of hiking and scenic drives. It worked out great! The property was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. It is about 1 mile from the small downtown area where we ate breakfast and dinner, and about 1/2 mile to an organic food co-op where we found pre-made sandwiches and deli foods to take on our hikes for lunch. Our host was very responsive to our questions about the property so we knew what to expect when we arrived. In addition, she quickly provided access information on my cell phone when I had trouble receiving it from the Vrbo site. A small electric heater in the living room was enough to keep the house temperature comfortable in the early fall weather, and small fans in the bedrooms provided some air movement and white noise to mitigate occasional sounds from traffic and the neighbors. We slept well and thoroughly enjoyed our first vacation to Vermont!
