The cabin was perfect for the 4 of us. Very well kept and clean. Beds were comfortable. The kitchen was fully furnished. Sitting down by the lake in the evening was very relaxing with a campfire going. Approximately 3 miles to the ferries for Mackinaw Island. Several restaurants to chose from that are close also. I had a question, sent an email and it was a quick response with the answer. Very enjoyable stay!

We loved our stay at this rental. They had everything we needed to have a great vacation. We just needed to pack our clothes and food. They supplied everything else for cooking and relaxation. We brought our kayaks. The lake was great for that. The shore is nice for kids to play in shallow water. Cabin was very clean and beautiful inside.

The property is charming and tucked away in a very private, peaceful location right on the lake. It was a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. I would recommend bringing extra toiletries (especially toilet paper), paper towels, and any cooking essentials such as spices, oils, and condiments, as only sal and Pepper was provided.Cleanliness could have been a little better. We found some food debris in the family room carpet and small pebbles on the kitchen and hallway floors when we arrived. On our last night, after a heavy rain, ants came into the single-bedroom area. We also noticed that the ceiling air vent was hanging loose. We notified the property manager about both issues, and they were appreciative of the feedback. The home also does not have a barbecue grill or dishwasher, which meant a little extra work during our stay. That was something we overlooked in the listing before booking, so future guests may want to keep that in mind.Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The peaceful lakeside setting and privacy made for a wonderful getaway, and now that we know what to expect, we would definitely stay here again.
Nice well located house to stay in for our recent trip to Mackinaw Island.
We love to take the ferry from St Ignace.
The view of the the pond/lake was an extra bonus
The house was fantastic for our group. We were centrally located to the Mackinaw ferries, restaurants and other excursions locations. This would be a cottage we would choose to return to.
We were beyond impressed with the property. The cleanliness exceeded any VRBO we have ever stayed in. It almost felt like we were the first people to stay there. The property is gorgeous. So close to St. Ignace main stores, shops, restaurants, and the ferry. Our trip was very active with hiking, biking, many trips to and from the island, but we found it hard to leave the property at times. Great place to enjoy. It was hard to leave and if we ever find our way back to the UP - this is where we will be staying!
This property was exactly as listed. A convenient location near attractions yet seemed peaceful and secluded in the woods with its own lovely smaller lake. Perfect place for my husband and I and 2 adult children. Would have loved access to a couple of kayaks or paddle boards to explore the lake a bit; there was a paddle boat but we didn't use it because we didn't have rags to clean it up.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this cabin for five nights in June.
Pros:
1. This is the cleanest VRBO property I have ever stayed in.
2. It is super close to all the restaurants and shops in St. Ignace and the ferry to Mackinac Island.
3. The view of the lake is beautiful. There is a picture in the listing of a canoe but when we rented, there was only a paddleboat that was full of water and was dirty. I wish I would have brought my paddleboard to enjoy the lake even more. Bring citronella candles for the mosquitoes!
Cons:
1. The listing said they can't promise what kind of dry goods will be available but I wasn't expecting there to be zero spices, non-stick cooking spray, etc. Usually I haul a bunch stuff to a VRBO and then never need to use it so this time I didn't bring anything and should have! There were some KCups and coffee filters but that was it.
2 There is also no hair dryer.
3. We locked ourselves out of the cabin during our stay and had some difficulty reaching anyone to help. The number given goes directly to an outgoing message that tells you to hang up and text the number with your emergency. I did so at 4:30 p.m. (they close at 5) and did not receive an immediate answer so I left a message and sent an email. By 4:45, I still received no response so we drove the physical office. Thank goodness the office was close to the cabin! Once we were able to reach someone, the situation was resolved quickly.
Overall, this is a great place.
Thank you again for staying with us! We hope you had a wonderful stay and enjoyed your time with us. You’re always welcome back, and we’d love to host you again anytime!
