About this property
Cozy Cabin w/ Neaby Spring Ski+Hike, PrvtHot Tub
Welcome to Fernwood Retreat, located in Rhododendron, Oregon!
Imagine traveling to a location where you have the best of both worlds: a cabin with modern amenities yet still has that rustic charm.
Our cabin is the perfect size for up to 4 guests who are looking to spend time in this beautiful area, just 20 minutes to the trails and slopes on Mt. Hood. Thoughtful décor and furnishings welcome you to this chalet-style home with a high-vaulted, wood plank ceiling and a cast-iron stove fireplace.
Walking into the cabin, you can appreciate the open layout of the family room. The leather seating provides a comfortable place near the cast-iron stove where you can take a ‘time-out’ from technology. You can read a book, spend time with family and friends, play board/card games, or even use it as a place to plan your next adventure.
Dining at the cabin is sure to be a hit. We provide a kitchen stocked with modern appliances, utensils, and cookware. Start your day off right with a homemade breakfast and freshly brewed coffee out on the deck to enjoy the morning sunrise relaxing in an Adirondack chair. We offer a great selection of locally roasted coffee beans and tea. Hungry after a long day of hiking or skiing? Before you head out, you can prep your evening meal in our slow cooker and come home to the aroma of a warm, home-cooked meal. We also have an outdoor propane grill!
After a long day exploring, feel free to take a nice hot bath or shower before turning in to bed. Towels and toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion) are provided.
The primary bedroom has a king-sized bed with walk-in closet. The secondary bedroom has two twin-sized beds and standard closet. The bedrooms are well-appointed with bedding and pillows to keep you warm and cozy during those cool mountain nights.
Want to stay up late? Make your way up to the loft and watch your favorite streaming service on our 50” television. You can also peruse the books we have available in our ‘free library’. Feel free to take one, leave one, or just enjoy a good book during your stay. If you are craving technology, the cabin has high-speed internet. There's now a wall-mounted arcade that will provide fun for many hours.
We now have central air-conditioning and heat, which will keep the cabin temperate all year long. No worries about power outages which can happen in this rural area as we have an automatic full-house generator in place.
Our brand new private hot tub will provide you with much-needed relaxation after spending a day in the outdoors. There are also some lawn games if you still have more energy to get out of your system.
Additional cabin amenities include a washer and dryer. Hypoallergenic detergent and dryer sheets are provided.
You can also take advantage of the community offerings (tennis court, basketball court, outdoor swimming pool) at the clubhouse that are just a two-minute walk away. Didn’t bring any sports equipment? You’re in luck! We provide tennis rackets and balls as well as a basketball for our guests to use. There is direct access to the Sandy River through our community, a short five-minute walk away.
A complimentary level 2 EV charger with J-1772 adapter is also available for all guests to use! Charge up your car before heading to the mountain.
