Nestled less than one mile from downtown Black Mountain, with sidewalks the entire distance, this fully renovated historical home will provide a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring! The layout encourages privacy yet connectivity for groups with a second living room and kitchenette on the second floor.

• Main floor living room with gas log fireplace and SmartTV for streaming.
• Dining area with seating for 6 and access to the deck.
• Light and bright kitchen on the main level with stainless steel appliances, a dishwasher, and a duo coffeemaker (Drip-style and Keurig).
• Convenient main floor powder room.
• Upstairs, enjoy a second private living room with a Smart TV for streaming and a kitchenette with a hot plate, instant pot, toaster oven, and dishwasher.
• The thoughtfully appointed outdoor space offers a deck with bistro seating for 2, a pergola with covered couch-style seating for up to 6, a gas fire table with seating for 4, a propane grill, and a fully fenced turf yard.

• The main floor boasts an impressive primary bedroom with a king-size bed and en suite bathroom with a claw-foot soaking tub, double vanity, and walk-in shower.

• Also on the upper level is a bedroom with a king-size bed and a Smart TV. There is also a full bathroom, accessed from the hallway only, with a walk-in shower.
• All bedrooms are equipped with plantation shutters to optimally darken the room for a sound sleep.

We ARE NOT able to have the following breeds: Akita, American Staffordshire Terrier, Bull Mastiff, Chow, Doberman Pinscher, Pit Bull, Presa Canario, Rottweiler, German Shepherd, Wolf Hybrid, or any dog that is a mix including one or more of the breeds listed.

Sorry, this home is not cat-friendly due to common allergies. There is 1 exterior security camera on the front porch. When using the interior stairway, please exercise caution, always use the handrail, and be aware of steep and shallow steps.

The house was welcoming, well appointed and very clean. It was convenient for getting to town and surrounding areas we wanted to visit. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and in the yard. Nice quiet street.

Charming neighborhood - nice walking around and into town. The home is very well maintained and nicely appointed. We had everything we needed and more. Very comfortable outside space for coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening. Our dog felt just as at home as we did. Would love to return.

Loved our stay… Plenty of room for our family. Our corgi really appreciated the fenced in backyard. Beds were very comfortable and the home was so well decorated. It was just beautiful.

Thanksgiving getaway

We had a great stay at the View Street Retreat! The house is really lovely and the layout was perfect for our group which consisted of me, my husband, our two college age daughters and our two little dogs. Black Mountain is charming and we barely scratched the surface of all there is to do and see (and eat!) in the area.

Location! Location!

This house is in a quiet neighborhood and in a great location if you want to walk to downtown Black Mountain. It is a mix of old charm and modern flair. It was so nice to have a bathroom per bedroom. I baked a lot while I was there and was happy to see measuring spoons and cups...even a rolling pin! My only suggestion to the owner/Greybeard is to replace the teflon cookware with stainless steel. I had to buy a pot because all the pots and pans were scratched. On my last day, I also noticed short hairs on the fitted sheets from the upstairs mattresses. They went unnoticed since they were all the way down by the foot of the beds...perhaps pet hair? Either way, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will consider renting again. Oh, the small yard was very welcoming!
