The house is was fantastic - very comfortable, clean, and they even had bowls for our dog. The communication with Troy was clear and responsive. We definitely hope to go back for longer next time! It was great to be able to walk around the neighborhood too.

Pictures do not justify the beauty of this place! My wife and I absolutely loved this place. We felt right at home. We will definitely recommend this place for anybody that wants to escape the chaos from the city life and want to relax and enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of the mountains.
Superior property in all ways. Cleanliness second to none, thoughtful amenities, clear instructions for everything. Property manager Troy was very responsive and extremely timely in all correspondence. Highly recommend!

Our 2 dogs and we had an incredibly relaxing stay at Dogwood Treehouse. The property is really cozy with great light & beautiful views. We’ve stayed in Cheshire before but love being on the crest given those views. Our puppy & dog loved napping on the mantle & watching the squirrels.

Thank you so much for the 5-star review, Ellen! It was a pleasure having you and the pups—we’re so glad you enjoyed your stay! The squirrels are quick! You’re always welcome back anytime.
We stayed at the Dogwood Treehouse during the ice storm FERN in January of 2026. We knew going in that there was a chance we could get stuck, but we had been planning this trip for nearly a year and didn’t want to cancel. We don’t get away very often just the two of us, and we’re so glad we didn’t.The cabin was outstanding. It was extremely clean, very well maintained, and thoughtfully stocked. The kitchen had everything we needed, including quality pots and pans and all the little essentials that are often missing in short-term rentals. We always check before grocery shopping, and in this case, nothing was missing. All we needed to buy was food. The owner truly went above and beyond. Plenty of firewood was provided, which was incredibly appreciated during the storm. The grill worked perfectly with full propane tanks, and all burners functioned properly. Ice melt was even provided so we could safely use the deck despite the ice.Communication was excellent. The owner was very responsive, usually replying within 15–30 minutes. When road conditions worsened, they were extremely accommodating and allowed a later checkout so we could avoid driving on unsafe roads. The bed was very comfortable, the bathrooms were great, and the hot tub worked perfectly. Despite being in a neighborhood, the cabin felt private and peaceful. We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Black Mountain.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review. We’re truly glad you decided to keep your plans and that the Dogwood Treehouse could be part of a special getaway for the two of you, especially under such challenging winter conditions.
We’re happy to hear the cabin, kitchen, and amenities met your expectations and that the extra touches like firewood, ice melt, and a fully functioning grill were helpful during the storm. Communication and guest safety are very important to us, so it’s great to know the flexibility with checkout and responsiveness made a difference.
It means a lot to hear that the home felt both comfortable and peaceful, and that you were able to relax and enjoy your time despite the weather. Thank you again for the recommendation, and we’d absolutely love to welcome you back to Black Mountain in the future.
