We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this house. We came to San Antonio to attend a hair show and the accommodations were great for comfort and team building. We loved being able to cook. The beds were comfortable and we had plenty of room. We didn’t find extra bedding for one of the cots. There were plenty of sheets but not enough blankets. We will be back
The house is in a great location. The train noise is a real thing if you’ve read other reviews. However, being used to a fan and noise machine at night, it didn’t bother us. Our service dog enjoyed the fenced yard. Parking inside the fence felt secure. All around good stay!
The property was very clean and well-taken care of w a great yard for the dogs. There were just a few issues. First of all, when arriving at night, the street is very dark. There are no lights on the street at all. The house itself was well lit but it was difficult to see the house number to be sure it was the right house.
Second, it did have certain necessities such as coffee but neither tub or shower even had soap or body wash. That's something that every hotel & most rental properties have so we had to make a run to the grocery store befroe we could even shower. There was coffee but no cream or sugar.
Most importantly, the 2 nights we were there it was very cold. The heater could not keep the house warm. On the 1st night, we had to sleep fully dressed & couldn’t find an extra blanket for the bed. In the morning, the thermostat said it was 64. There seemed to be little or no insulation as you could feel the cold air coming in around the windows. I would bet it is similarly hot in the summer and very hard to keep cool. It seems like they spent a lot of money making the house look good -- and it does look very good -- but didn't spend the money on things like insulation so we ended up with a very cold night.
Finally, the neighborhood is loud: neighbors, the train a block away, & the electrical transformer right out back all made it hard to sleep. The owners do supply earplugs but they weren't enough.
It's a nice enough place but not 1 I'll return to.
Pet-friendly but who ever stayed prior to us did not pick up their dog poop. (No fault of the owner)Some of the dishes were not clean (no fault of the owner)Cute home, nice bathrooms with good water pressure.
Comfortable and enjoyed the fenced yard for our dog. Train was a bit jarring at night but depends on what kind of sleeper you are. Worked excellent for our needs.
This was the perfect location for us to spend time with our granddaughter who is at Sam Ft Houston naval base. It was only 10 minutes away which gave us extra time with her. And having a fully furnished kitchen was great for us to cook all her favorite home cooked meals she has been missing. It was a nice comfortable home and the beds were comfy.
Beautiful home in a humble neighborhood. Very kind neighbors, very safe. Train is very frequent and near, however, didn’t detract much from the experience. Host was very generous to provide earplugs to help with putting up with the railroad. Very convenient neighborhood in downtown San Antonio, easy access to sights and amenities.
Pros: centralized city location. Has a full kitchen and everything you could need. The inside is nice and clean. Camera system is in use for exterior Cons: local train is loud and may keep light sleepers up at night. (Although they do provide ear plugs free of charge!) The neighborhood seems a bit rough.
House is beautiful and plenty of room for my dog to run free. Beds are comfy and had all the things we needed to cook and kitchen was nicely done. If i am ever in San Antonio agian i will stay here again. The train is right there but i grew up around a train. I slept like a baby. They provided ear plug if needed. Amaazing home Great stay
The listing is exactly as posted. The property was clean upon arrival and we had 0 issues checking in or out. It was great that we were able to take our dog with us and not have to worry about finding a pet sitter. Spacious kitchen and living room made it easy for family and friends to sit and relax comfortably. There is an ACTIVE train track 2 streets over but we were aware of this. The owner provided plenty of ear plugs for us. While the neighborhood is older, we felt safe the entire time and never had issues or cause for concern of our safety or well being. Would definitely stay again.
This is a beautiful house with the perfect little yard for the dog to get some exercise. Perfect for the family to stay for our sons graduation at Ft Sam Houston for a couple of days and not have to worry about room for us all.
Perfect little house in an older neighborhood that is undergoing updates. It was clean and comfortable. The train is loud at night but we had noise machines and fans and didnt bother us at all. We will stay again!
