My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. The property was cozy and served our needs. It was right on the water with a lovely view and so quiet at night that we were able to relax and rest easy. I highly recommend this place for a quick getaway!

Lovely location and cottage. Beds were super comfortable and the master suite, spectacular. Incredible view both day and night. Wonderfully outfitted for cooking in and loved how clearly labeled everything was. Very generous complimentary treats tray and coffee was lovely. Perfect for two couples. One queen bed in downstairs bedroom and one king bed upstairs in master. Will rent this little gem again!

We very much enjoyed our girls' trip to this cozy cottage! The cottage itself was beautiful and well-appointed. The beds were super comfy. We loved waking up to that amazing view every morning and enjoying a cup of coffee while watching the sea life. A quick note about the stairs, they are tricky and I think I overestimated my abilities to navigate them. My friend and I, both being in our 60s had a bit of a challenge with them and with our luggage, but like another reviewer said, once we were there we were very happy. Katrina is an amazing host and so responsive. Oh, and one other thing - Vashon has the friendliest people. Everyone we met was so welcoming! Vashon is a wonderful destination, and the cottage is a beautiful and cozy place to call homebase!

We had an awesome experience and stay at Sand dollar Beach Cottage. It was so peaceful to wake every morning to the sound of the waves outside our door. Every day of our 10 day stay we had wonderful views and saw many beautiful creatures: Bald Eagles, Sea Lions, Otters, Porpoises and many others. It was amazing! Katrina was an amazing host. She was always available if we had questions. We will definitely return for another visit to Vashon Island and the Beach Cottage.

The main issue was the lack of central heating on the main floor. There were space heaters, but they seemed to set off the circuit breakers and also take down the internet and TV. It looks like the home previously had central heating because there were several ducts in the house, but it's clearly not functional now. And the space heaters were not up to the task for late October period on the main floor, which had the living room and kitchen. There was a mini split on the second floor in the bedroom, which kept it nice and warm upstairs. The home was really nice and otherwise well taken care of.

Hi John. Thanks for bringing this up again. As I assisted you while you were there. There is a Mini Split on the first floor located in the seating area just off of the kitchen. It keeps the first floor nice and warm. There is also a fireplace in the living room and portable heaters for the first floor bedroom, in case anyone wants extra heat. On the second floor is an additional portable oil heater which keeps the loft nice and warm. We host many guests during our beautiful Autumn and moody winter season who enjoy the cozy warm cottage on the beach. I am very sorry to hear that after I gave you instructions and also checked back with you, that you did not have heat nor let me know.

Simply perfection! Absolution stunning home with out of this world views. Katrina was a fantastic communicator. Pictures don’t do this slice of heaven justice ! We loved watching the otters play each morning and used the kayaks to enjoy the ocean at our finger tips. Just lovely !!!

The kitchen was very well equpped and the location is really fabulous right on the water. If you are here in the winter, do get extra logs and enjoy the wood stove. There is other heat but that wood stove is nice.Do know that there are steps down to the house from the parking area-which the website does tell you-so you'll need to be prepared to carrry in but once you're in the cabin, you'll be happy you're there.

Absolutely stunning property

We had a lovely time, the view of the water from cottage was amazing! It was exactly what we needed to relax. The one thing, with us being a bit older, we didn’t realize that there would be so many steep stairs coming from garage down to cottage.

Very cool place. The kayaks are awesome. Very cool to see the tide go out and in. Saw fireworks over the hill in Tacoma that had to be after a Rainier’s game at Cheney Stadium. Pretty cool. Very relaxing place. Use the water jug near the kitchen instead of tap water for cooking would be my only suggestion. Easy check in and out process.

Amazing Views!

Our stay was great! A relaxing and memory filled family weekend with my husband, 5 year old, baby and dog. The house was comfortable and clean. The views can't be beat. The location on the water was amazing. We had so much fun going out multiple times a day to walk along and explore the beach. The house is well stocked and the host Kat is super responsive when we needed to reach out to her during our stay. We would definitely stay here again!

Mother’s Day girls trip

My mom, sister and I had a great time in Vashon this Mother’s Day for our girls trip. The cottage was very clean and peaceful just as pictured! We saw lots of birds and even a seal popped his head up a few times! The view is beautiful and the weather was great! We enjoyed exploring the island and all the scenery and then coming back to this cozy cottage! The host Kat was great, very friendly and responsive to any questions we had. We absolutely loved this house! The views are amazing! Beds are super comfy! We really had a good chance to relax and be together as a family during spring break. It was fun to see the difference between low and high tide. Tons of shells to investigate. We would have stayed longer if we could have. My 7 year old was crying as we left on the ferry and is already planning our return trip. ;) The listing is described very accurately. It is an older home but is updated throughout. Kitchen is very modern with everything we needed to prepare meals. Drawers and cupboards were even labeled so you could find things easily. Communication with the host was excellent! Don't hesitate to stay here!
