It’s a beautiful property, and the location is fantastic. Was exactly what we needed and I would love to come back again. The host was accommodating and very easy to communicate with. Being pet friendly was a huge plus, and our puppers very much seemed to enjoy himself as well.

The cabin overall is nice. It could use a little TLC, but it was a nice secluded place. Just as advertised. We had some issues with the upstairs toilet and the hot tub was dirty, but the owner were quick to take care of both issues. We had to shake off the mattress cover due to dirt being under the sheet, but it’s a cabin in the woods, so not a big deal. Not being able to use the hot tub was a disappointment, but it should be ready to go for the next guests. We did have deer in the yard one morning and the close proximity to the skyline drive and Luray Caverns was nice. Perfect weekend getaway for my wife and I.

Unfortunately we had a very unpleasant stay here. When we arrived the property was not cleaned from the previous stay - dirty towels in the bathroom, trash greeted us at the door, the bathroom trashcan was full, dirty dishes in the dishwasher, and worst of all the sheets were not changed on any of the beds. The hot tub was also a mess, tons of debris and a very strange looking substance on the surface of the water. I booked this as a fun birthday trip for my husband and 2 dogs because we love this area. After reaching out to Patrick upon arrival we did not hear from him until late the next day when a cleaner arrived with no new towels or linen. A few hours later Patrick arrived and stayed for approx. 2 hours to clean and change the sheets while we tried to have a relaxing morning. Despite the unwanted lack of privacy due to him cleaning the house during our stay, he was polite and somewhat apologetic. He offered us a late check-out and a refund on the cleaning fee. We felt this was the least he could do and took him up on both offers. Upon arrival back home, I reached out to Patrick asking how we would get our refund. He responded accusing us of having 3 dogs with us (we had 2) and said we would not be getting a cleaning refund. He has since refused to respond to any follow-up messages I have sent regarding the cleaning refund. After an interrupted 2 night stay at a filthy cabin with a cleaning fee that was simply pocketed by Patrick, I do not recommend this place to anyone.

It was a beautiful cabin, exactly what we needed to get away from the city and just disconnect. If you’re not comfortable driving on mountain roads, just something to think about. Overall an amazing little getaway.

Romantic and Cozy

Early spring was perfect for my husband and I to get away to this cabin and watch nature emerge from the cold of winter. We had a wonderful time with our doggies, and the host was so helpful!

This is another recent review: Great weekend get away. The cabin was perfect for what we needed. Yes there were bugs and spiders but it’s a cabin in the woods. The bed was really comfy and the hot tub under the stars was perfect. Will stay here again.

Quiet Getaway

We really enjoyed our time at the cabin in the woods. The fire was cozy. We spent time disconnected to our devices and connecting with each other, walking, reading and doing a jigsaw puzzle. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable.

loved our get away week end in the Chalet!

My wife and I really enjoyed this secluded chalet in the forest. We managed to hike to Shenandoah park from the house in just under one hour. Hot tub was just the cherry on the cake. Communication with owner patrick was easy.

Oasis in the woods

This was our second visit to this cabin and we really enjoy the peace and quiet. The cabin is very rustic and comfortable and we love the gas fireplace. Communication with Pat was great both before and during our stay. We went on walks around the area and spent a wonderful afternoon down by the lake.

10 year Anniversary getaway

Overall exactly what we needed. The goal was to unplug and reconnect with each other, and this location was perfect for that. Expect a rustic stay and true rural feel, with the luxury of a hot tub. Definitely off the beaten path down and up winding roads, Definitely recommend a sturdy vehicle to get around in. Overall loved our stay and will absolutely do it again!!

Loved the hot tub

Everything was very nice. We enjoyed using the kitchen and especially the hot tub. We felt the sitting area was smaller than it appeared online but we liked the gas stove. We would have appreciated a washer/dryer to dry our clothes after using the hot tub. We also wished there were wash clothes. And we did not realize there were only 3 double beds which was not enough room for 7 people. Overall our stay was wonderful!

Peaceful and beautiful

This cabin was exactly as listed. Ample room for 3 people. Beautiful views in a secluded area. We did have some problems Starting the dishwasher and the outside cover on the oven door kept falling off. Other than that everything was wonderful. I highly recommend this cabin it was a wonderful experience for me and my girls.

Wonderful getaway

If you are looking for a rustic, off grid, romantic mountain getaway- this is the rental for you. There is no Wi-Fi, and we did not have cell phone service- so do your research about the area before you arrive. The hosts did have a guest book with a plethora of information about the area and attractions. The drive to the cabin is not for the feint of heart, but it was secluded and private with stunning views. Just a short drive to town for groceries and about 30 minutes to Shenandoah National Park which offered some of the most amazing views and hiking trials I have ever seen. Highly recommend this lovely chalet!

Slooowww Down

The property was just as described. It is rustic but clean. It is a 1.1 mile drive on a gravel road back to the property where you have no Internet or cell phone service. A perfect place to slow down and disconnect.

Stunning getaway

Absolutely loved this getaway! We had a squeaky, scratchy visitor in the bedroom wall all night long bedside us one night that just wouldn't go away which was annoying but didn't ruin our stay. If we were actually at the cabin more than taking advantage of the hiking I would have done a deep clean but staying kinda off the grid you get what you expect. The host had a full book of the area which was amazing, as well as maps, books, movies, etc which really made it feel like a home away from home. I would definitely love to book this again!!
