As a family we really enjoyed the stay here with our kids. Host was really helpful and so kind. We really appreciate his kindness. Kitchen was really equipped, so it was easy to find things. He let us stay for a few more hours beyond the checkout time as well. We really appreciate it!
Definitely one of the best priced properties in the area. Very new, and clean. A lot of room for everyone as well. Quiet area with a beautiful porch with views.

Hi Mike- it was a pleasure hosting you and we greatly appreciate how clean you left the cabin upon leaving. We would have you back anytime in the future. You were excellent guests. Thank you again Mike!!
I spend a few days in the cabin by myself to get some work done. The Wifi was excellent! Beds were comfortable, kitchen well stocked (plenty of coffee and filters!), very quiet. Nice view of the mountains through the trees. Directions were perfect, communication with host excellent. Would def stay again!

Were glad you enjoyed your stay with us and you liked our strong wifi signal. Starlink is amazing and can run multiple devices, computers and stream movies and it never slows the signal down. We look forward to seeing you again.
Charming newly built cabin tucked away on a private road. The home is a great combination of clean, modern features in kitchen/bath/living sprinkled with interesting antique furniture throughout. Back porch was great for grilling and relaxing with a beautiful view of the mountains. Kitchen was stocked with coffee, tea, hot cocoa, condiments, spices, etc. I had everything I needed to cook meals. Just bring your own food/drinks. My only slight negative was the main-level bedroom had a stiffer mattress than what I’m used to, but other folks may prefer this. Host was responsive and communication/check-in, check-out was seamless. Perfect getaway location and short drive to my hikes on Skyline Dr and Old Rag. Fantastic cabin and would highly recommend for some privacy, peace, and quiet!

Hi Mike. Yes the downstairs mattress is a little harder than the mattresses upstairs but we have had people say they need a harder mattress. We decided to use one slightly harder and the ones upstairs are softer. Glad you enjoyed the cabin.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this mountainside cabin. It was clean, well equipped, and had gorgeous views. Would have appreciated queen sized beds instead of the full sized ones but they we’re comfortable nonetheless. If you plan on bringing a pet be sure and notify the owner ahead of time and expect a 75 upcharge regardless of the size of your pet or whether your pet causes additional cleaning needs. I didn’t know this until the day of our arrival when I received the extra charge from VRBO. The owner must have seen our pet on the outside camera. I’m certain our 12 lb dog caused no problems but instead of a refundable deposit there’s a flat fee for pets.

Pet fee is normal for any Airbnb or VRBO. Its clearly part of the booking process which you neglected to do. My rate of $75 is way below normal pet rates. I've paid as high as $150 for a stay. I tried to contact you for 4 days via chat box -emails from VRBO and I even tried texting you with no answer. I'm sure you thought you didn't have to pay with ignoring my communications . VRBO was also very frustrated with your lack of communication. As for your complaint about not any extra pillow cases I sent you after your stay a picture of our linen closest full of extra sheets and pillow cases. All you had to do was open the door. Were dog people and we have had pet damage but we don't hold that against other pet owners in bookings. The nature of the business is pets can do damage as everyone in our geography charges a pet fee or they don't allow pets at all. I hope you can find another property that allows pets with no pet fee or just lets you set your own rules. Maybe if you had answered my messages or tried to communicate with me I was likely to see you made an honest mistake and I would've let the pet fee go.

What makes this property unique
1 year old log cabin home. Front porch view and seeing the 1880's abandoned rock lined mining roads around our property in the woods. Our mountain broke away from Mt.Hawksbill and Old Rags Head Mountain during the ice age. Geologists come from all over the world to study our rock formations and ravines. Lots of wildlife in the area.
