About Mindy Strand
Moved to South Florida 8 years ago from Texas and absolutely love it! Sunshine year round and beautiful white sandy beaches. We own and manage a small group of vacation properties on Ft Myers Beach and North Captiva Island. Live here full time, work here part time :) Once I moved here I became a Real Estate Broker and specialize in helping others relocate to the area or find the perfect vacation rental investment property. So if you get down here and decide its where you want to be, I can help you find your next dream home in paradise!

Why Mindy Strand chose Captiva
Best location on the island, hands down! Located at the point of the island overlooking Captiva Pass, here you have your own private beach with dolphins jumping, perfect sunsets and star gazing at night. No sharing the beach like you would on some other parts of the island, this is your own private paradise!
What makes this House unique
Your very own beach to relax in peace, undeveloped preserve across the street and private residences on both sides, no other rentals so you will always have tons of privacy!
100% refund if cancelled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Seagrapes . ocean life, and more
Coconuts floated down the shoreline pulled by the brilliant blue- green swift currents. Manatees , great monstrous looking gentle giants moved just above the surface then settle to the sandy beds of the ocean in front of a small but sturdy , happy yellow wood structure. The shy head of a sea turtle sweeps across your sight. Dolphins curl and dive before you near and far. Places do have souls. The soul of this simple house on a magical small patch of shore framed by coconut trees and seagrapes is a happy one. At first embrace you enter from a hectic world with notions of need and luxury. After one nights rest with the gentle hum of the ocean 20 feet from your resting spot you find yourself waking to a new , less needy state of being. There is all you need here. The small kitchen /dining/ living room has the perfect kitchen essentials, books, games, and two comfy clean white sofas. As your morning begins, a few steps from the stairs with coffee cup in hand you are at the white and pink shell adorned beach ,facing a caribbean-colored blue green ocean converging with a flowing river, teaming with life. All your day can be spent watching the sea life and the fishermen who are drawn here. There are amazing creatures of the air who land just feet from your beach chair and swoop across your path for the ocean provided meals. Gopher turtles magically appear on the sand and a hawk soars over head. All thoughts of iphones and youtube are forgotten. We never turned on the TV or opened our laptops. Instead, we enjoyed hours of board games and good wine watching natures show. Long walks along the shore take you to a bird sanctuary and a long white beache along the colorful waters. You can have fresh seafood and any supplies delivered daily by Duncan's hard working helpers. A true and special island retreat.
Lovely stay and location
Just returned from our stay at Rainbows End 6/10-6/15. We loved the location and closeness to the water. If we ever went back a beachfront home would be a must because I think the bugs would be too bad anywhere else (minimal bugs at Rainbows end).
Great things about the property:
1. Location-the beach is lovely right outside the back door. I will say we did see a shark very close to the shore on our last day there. It is Tarpon season right now so apparently that had something to do with it. They say the sharks won't bother you-I am not staying in the water to see if that's true. On another beach we got to get up close and personal with dolphins everyday which was awesome.
2. Number of outdoor amenities such as chairs, boogie boards etc.
3. Property Management was wonderful. Always willing to help with anything/questions. Duncan was awesome.
4. outdoor shower was nice to have
5. Inside was nice and clean. (I would not have adults sleep on the pullout sofa-mattress is thin and uneven. It was sufficient for two smaller kids that essentially sleep sideways).
Things to keep in mind. It's an island. I would say grocery planning is huge. Planning out each meal and recognizing since there is not a lot to do on an island other that sunbathe, swim, and eat-bring everything you plan to eat plus more snacks and drinks!
Overall would recommend this house and definitely a Tortuga run property again. My personal preference is probably to go somewhere slightly less remote. For those looking for a getaway from everyone and everything this is the place.
Our New Paradise
Loved every minute of our stay! If you're looking for a peaceful property to relax and unwind...this is your place. We really can't say enough good things about it. Working with Duncan, Gage, Ally and Mindy was a true pleasure! We will be back!
The house is right on the beach, the screened in porch looks very to the clear waters, and there is constant sightings of Manatees, and Dolphins. The island is a place to relax and enjoy the water and the lushes vegetation around. I would highly recommend this property, it had everything we needed.
We packed our groceries well, but whatever we needed was a text message away, property managers purchased what we needed and delivered to us at the property.
Rainbow’s End was the perfect beach house for my family of five! Laurie and Duncan met us at the dock and made our check- in effortless. The house was clean and well appointed. There were plenty of games and beach toys for the kids, and seashells and sand dollars for miles. The screened in porch was a bonus and probably the most used room of the house. The sunset views were amazing and to see dolphins swimming right by our beach was spectacular. The North Captiva Island Club was a nice addition, providing pools, a pool bar with great staff, bikes, kayaks, and even manatees. There are so many positives the list could go on and on!
Wife caught a 2 foot shark off front porch and took home 2 billion georgeous shells and kids all smiles, top review possible!!
