Our kitchen is a cook's dream, fully stocked with everything you need to create an amazing meal. There are small appliances such as a microwave, espresso / coffee maker, blender, toaster, and a hot water pot. We also stock items such as coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper, spices and oil. Additionally, there are herbs and berries planted around the house that are available for our guests to enjoy (usually from late spring through summer)! There is a barbecue out back as well.

Wonderful stay in a cozy area of Wallingford

The house was just as pictured/described - it featured a view of Lake Union from the front porch, had upleveled features in the house like heated floors and a rain shower in the bathroom, and tasteful design throughout. Great communication with Stina and I loved the recommendations for things to do and places to check out in the area captured in their book. Highly recommend, and would love to stay again when I am back in Seattle.

About the host

I grew up in the Northwest and lived in Seattle, WA for 25+ years. Recently, we are splitting our time between Seattle and The Gorge in Oregon. We are renting our home in Seattle when we aren't there, so that others can enjoy our wonderful area. My husband and I enjoy kayaking, love to travel and eat good food.

Why they chose this property

Our home is located in one of the best neighborhoods (at least we think so) in Seattle. If you like to get out and explore by foot, Wallingford is a very walkable neighborhood. There are so many great restaurants, shops and parks within an easy walking distance of our home that you will be spoiled for choices. Wallingford is a charming and safe neighborhood and staying at our home will give you a sense of what it might be like to live in Seattle. Downtown is easily accessible, but it's nice to be able to come back to our quiet neighborhood at the end of the day. We are minutes away from Lake Union. There is shopping, restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance (15-20 min) from the house (see the guidebook for highlights). The Burke Gilman trail which is popular for running, biking and walking is just a block away from the house - follow it west to the salt water beaches at Golden Gardens (5 miles) or east towards the University of Washington campus (~1 mile) and as far as Chateau Ste Michelle Winery or Red Hook Brewery (23 miles). Gas Works park is 1/2 mile (10 min) walk away and is the location for the annual Seattle fireworks show. Downtown Seattle is about 5 miles away and takes about 10-15 minutes by car. We are also on an easy accessible bus route where buses to downtown come by frequently. The Woodland Park Zoo is also nearby (2.5 miles). There is so much to do and see it's hard to list it all here, but we will provide additional information at the house.

What makes this property unique

This is our home - it is not solely a rental - we live here part of the year. It is not managed by an outside company and we maintain it as if we were living there year round. We hope that folks get a sense that it is somebody's home and that it is a welcoming space for people to relax in and feel as if they are at home.
