The Lazy Acorn Cabin

Yes there are cleaning items all parties who stay need to do before they leave. It shouldn't have been a surprise to Dan. It is stated in the advertising. It is listed out in the rental agreement which is posted online. When I send access instructions I remind renters about this prior to their stay. At anytime if someone doesn't want to do the cleaning they can request a cleaning fee instead. This is NOT a hotel. You are renting my home, and I just want you to leave it like you found it. If you want someone to clean up after you, then please book a hotel. If you want a fantastic cabin with a wonderful setting & plenty of privacy located in the woods on the snowmobile trail. A place you can create memories, this is the place for you. I have been renting this cabin out for years now with many repeat customers who love it! General cleaning list is: Wash your dishes & put them away -Wipe down counters, tables, appliances with Clorox wipes which are provided. -Wipe out sinks w/wipes, clean toilet, and spray shower with shower spray. -Vacuum -Put dirty sheets, pillow cases, and towels in dirty laundry basket.

It is unfortunate that I did everything possible to communicate with him about what to expect, and he gives a poor review because he never read the emails and information provided him. The story is he booked it 3 days prior to the weekend. I sent him access instructions immediately. Later that evening I sent another email clearly explaining the checkout process since he had paid a cleaning fee. The process is simple, wash your dishes, put dirty linens in laundry basket, remove all your things including food you brought with you, shut off lights, and lock things up. He never responded to my emails as I had asked him to, so I called him the following day prior to his stay to make sure he received them. He confirmed he received them but hadn't looked at them. Well, it became evident he didn't read the list I sent to him, and because of this he did the cleaning list that customers who book directly on my website get. They have the option to complete a full cleaning list and in return are not charged a cleaning fee at all. Part of this list does include disposing of your own trash. There is not trash service due to the secluded location. Most just take with them to the golf course, ski hill, or put in the back of their truck. I tried contacting him again to fix the miscommunication, and possibly even refund his cleaning fee. He would never return my attempts to contact him. Thanks for the review! I am very glad you loved the place. I would like to clarify for other reading this review that there are blinds in the bathroom and bedroom for privacy. Just not in the living & dining room areas. See you again next year!
