About this property
Welcome to the charming McKinney Morgan House in the oldest town in Texas!
The McKinney Morgan House is centrally located within walking distance to Main Street and Stephen F. Austin State University. The house is also steps away from Lanana Creek Trail in Pecan Acres Park. This 100-year-old charming home in the historic Washington Square District offers a 3 bedroom/ 2 bathroom main house and a 1 bedroom/ 1 bathroom guest house.
Our address is in the heart of Nacogdoches and parking is located directly behind the house. You will note there should be ample parking for guests in the main house and guest house, but please be mindful to space cars to ensure safe vehicle parking and movement. The garage will remain locked from use during your stay, and we appreciate your understanding.
Check in begins at 4:00pm. We cannot guarantee any early check-ins because we need to give our cleaning crew enough time to service the house prior to your arrival. However, if you have a specific check-in request, please reach out to us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
The McKinney Morgan House is equipped with self-check-in for your stay. To enter the house, use only the back door of the main house, which is equipped with keyless locks. Refer to your welcome message for your entry code. To unlock the keypad, type in your entry code then press the green check mark. To lock the door, simply press the Yale logo after you have fully shut the door. The entry code will remain the same during your entire stay.
Check out is at 11am on your final day.
TV & WiFi-
Streaming apps are accessible; however, you will need to use your personal login. We ask if you do login to any of your personal streaming accounts such as Apple TV, Netflix, Amazon, etc., that you please log back out before leaving. Wi-Fi is provided.
Kitchen-
We have a fully equipped kitchen for your enjoyment! There are pots, pans, silverware, knives, dishes and glassware included. Entertainment items such as Texas pewter serving dishes, wine buckets and champagne flutes etc. are also available in case a celebration brings you to Nacogdoches.
Trash cans are found in the pull-out cabinet to the right of the sink and trash bags are under the sink. Unfortunately, there are no recycle options. We do ask that you dispose of your trash prior to leaving. The large trash bin is located on the far side of the garage.
Please also enjoy the coffee and tea bar! Do not forget to throw away your coffee grounds in the trash cans as opposed to the disposal. This will help keep the disposal running smoothly. You will find a Keurig, coffee maker, coffee bean grinder and French press all for your enjoyment. Coffee, tea, cups, and additional accessories are found in the cabinets in the coffee bar area and in the cabinets to the right of the double oven.
Please load the dishwasher and run it before you check-out. When you do so, there are dishwasher pods located under the sink.
Laundry and Linens-
Shower towels, hand towels, and washcloths are found in each bathroom. We have also provided specific wash cloths for anyone who needs to remove their makeup, they are black and labeled. And special pet towels are also available for our furry friends’ paws. Extra linens are found in the blue bedroom closet and white armoire.
Laundry is located in the utility room outside, beside the guest house to the right. Your door code will unlock this door. All laundry supplies can be found on the shelves in the utility room cabinet should you need them for personal use during your stay. If you do run the laundry during your stay, please leave the laundry machine cracked when the cycle is complete to allow the machine to dry out in-between cycles.
House Rules-
Your furry friends are always welcome. There are poop bags on the greeting table in the large living room along with a specific towel to wipe their paws if it is wet outside. If you use the dog towels, please add them to the dirty towels in the bathroom with your other linens before you leave. Pets are NOT allowed on the beds; dirty paws are difficult to remove from our sheets and comforters. We offer special dog beds. Also, we ask that you please clean up after your dog(s) and throw the bags away in the large trash bin along the far side of the garage.
Please DO NOT lock any of the doorknobs when leaving. Only use the keypad to lock the doors.
There is NO smoking allowed in the McKinney Morgan House.
Please enjoy your stay and the outdoor space the house has to offer, but please be cognizant that you are in a neighborhood and do your best to not disturb the neighbors. Be sure to move the barbeque pit away from the house when in use, and when finished, turn BBQ and firepit gas all the way off. Please note, the previous guest may have turned the valve on the tank off, be sure to check as this is a good practice. There is extra propane for the fire pit and BBQ pit in the outside utility room cabinet (between the guest house and garage doors). Please clean the grill after use, and for your ease, you will find disposable grease trap pans in the kitchen cabinets along with the grill accessories. (See the cabinet to the right of the double oven.) Please dispose of grease trap pans in the trash bins on the far side of the garage.
While enjoying the outdoors, please be mindful of uneven surfaces, loose bricks, and sprinkler heads around the yard.
In the large living room, there is a lamp on the back wall on a timer and will turn off late in the evening. The bedrooms have fans located in the closets and their remotes are in the nightstands. There are flashlights in each room should you need them. A first aid kit and fire extinguisher are under the sink in the kitchen. We pray these are not needed, but please alert us if you do! For any emergency, please dial 911.
Additionally-
We ask that you be mindful that the McKinney Morgan House is over 100 years old, and the floors and much of the furniture are also historic. We want you to have a fun and comfortable stay, but we hope you will be gentle, pick-up furniture--i.e. chairs or small tables-- when possible, instead of dragging it across the floors, use coasters, and please treat this home as you would your own, so we can love and share it with others for years to come. We ask that you also be considerate of the plumbing. Please avoid disposing of grease in the sinks and only dispose of toilet paper in the toilets.
