Hilltown Nest is a beautiful and serene place to stay. It’s a quirky house but had most of what we needed, and if we needed something, Vitaly was very responsive! Cute stores and shops nearby, and only a short drive into the Hamptons. Great find!
We only stayed 2 nights but man was it great!
Perfect fall atmosphere and crisp air with a beautiful low flow river across the street. We were very pleased and only negative was not staying long enough..
Sadly we were only here for a couple of nights, but this place was very nice. I manage vacation rentals myself and i was very impressed by the cleanliness of this place, especially considering the size of it.
The house is great for a family with lots of room to spread out. Our grandkids enjoyed tinkling on the piano and playing in the backyard. Would definitely choose to stay here again!
Clean, spacious home on a pretty property with big lawn and mature trees. Nice deck and trampoline if you get good weather. Decor is very comfortable and a blast from the past. Great spaces for yoga with friends and hanging out chatting. Some noise from road and train nearby. Air conditioners provide perfect white noise. Beautiful river right across the street.
Exactly as pictured in ad. Spacious, good layout, comfortable for everyone. Easy reservation/check-in process.House is dated and needs updates/repairs in places. Some lamps didn’t work. Overpowering room freshener smell. No access to sun room, but it rained everyday anyway.Large rooms, awesome dining room table, minimal dishes and utensils. Overall very satisfied!
The entire property was spotlessly clean everywhere.Very well equipped. We didn’t even use the whole house it was so big. Comfortable beds, lots of towels, toilet roll, shampoo etc. Well equipped kitchen. Big grill, lovely terrace with table and lots of chairs. Nice fire pit. Basically everything you need for a perfect countryside getaway at a very reasonable price. Thank you very much.
The house is as pictured and spotless. The main issues we had were the A/C and the smell of the house. The smell was overbearing as soon as you walked in. We tried spraying air freshener and airing out, but the smell lingered. There are window units throughout the house but one did not work. We went to the dollar store and bought three fans. Also, there is a detached garage and it looks like someone may be living there. We seen a few different cars pulling in and out.We did not reqch out to the owner as we were only there for 2 days.
I rented this property close to where one of my sons lives. The two other sons flew from the west coast with their partners. The house was spacious to accommodate overnight 3 adult couples and a visiting couple with two teenagers. We survived a heat wave there and the air conditioning worked! The house has a great outdoors space that we could not quite use because of the heat, but one evening we made smores and loved the lightning bugs! The house is set back from the road which is nice. There is a river across the road and the young generation enjoyed it to alleviate the heat. One cannot avoid hearing trains (they are across the river, but the sound carries), but with closed windows and the AC running, they were really not a problem. The big dining room table easily accommodated 10 grownups and we enjoyed having our dinners there. The music room was a nice escape for those who wanted to get away from the commotion. We all enjoyed playing games in the family room and preparing meals in the kitchen. It was fun when we all made pierogi around the kitchen table.
Catching fish fingerlings in the brook using bare hands!
We meet with a friend and their family including two young girls (age 6 and 8) at the place for a vacation in early July. The activities included a ballet at the Jacob's pillow, and the opening all Beethoven concert in Tanglewood, both are within 30 min drive. But the highlight is to catch fish fingerlings (trying to) with kids in the brook across the street using our bare hands!
The house is spacious and functional. Vitaly is very easy to communicate with and responded to concerns effectively. The kitchen was stocked with enough plates and cookwares, plus sugar, salt, and some coffee (and coffee filter!). The Keurig coffee machine, which can also use pods, makes surprisingly good drip coffee. We used the gas grill, but unfortunately, the deck is west facing with little shade, and it can get very hot in the summer afternoon. The well water tasted cool and refreshing. The kitchen is clean, but the carpet of some of the bedrooms were old with stains, and could use a good cleaning (or replacement).
Overall we had a good time, except the noises at the night. There is a railroad track near by, and the trains passed by several times each night. The front road is also busy, and can get noisy during the week days. The window ACs are helpful during the hot days, but some of them can be quite loud for sleeping. It is definitely not a place for light sleepers.
Great place for a large family. The deck is huge and great for cookouts!
Vitaly was very responsive and helpful with places to bring the kids. We had one minor issue and he was there within the hour to fix it. Huge backyard, kids brought badminton and other games to play. Great kitchen table for card games.
We host a family reunion every year at a different location and this was one of the best! We were not worried about noise as there are no neighbors. The house had plenty of beds and very spacious. One recommendation is bring a toaster we had to use the oven for bagels.
We have a wonderful time using the house. There were 7 adults and 1 child and all were comfortable. The deck and backyard were large and accommodating for grilling and playing games. We had plenty of room inside the house and the bedrooms were comfortable. The only suggestion is that butter knives, drinking glasses and microwavable dishes should be provided.
Vitaly’s home is spacious and perfect for big groups. There aren’t any pictures of it, but there’s a HUGE backyard and deck with plenty of Adirondack chairs and a nice grill.
The house itself is a bit stuffy, but overall very easy to host a big group here for a bachelorette party weekend. Right across the street from a beautiful river and near hiking areas. Downside of location is that it’s right on a pretty busy road.
Overall,, nice stay, and Vitaly was a super quick and responsive host via text!
