About this property
Breathtaking Views of Mogollon Rim from Large Mountain Home
Breathtaking views of the Mogollon rim from all decks and windows of this 2900 sq. ft. mountain home which was designed for comfort, family fun, or entertaining guests--all will surprise and delight you! With 800 sq. ft. of decks, 4 bedrooms, plenty of living space, your stay will be a special get-a-way. Located 200 feet above the East Verde River valley in secluded Whispering Pines community, you are still 12 miles from the center of Payson or Pine, so you enjoy peace and contentment yet know that the amenities are not too far away.
The great room is marvelous for spreading out in front of the amazing (hand picked) stone fireplace. Views from the near floor-to-ceiling windows almost hypnotize you. A/C if needed.
Spaciousness extends to the master suite, open loft, topping the house with its own bath, dressing room and balcony/deck on the upper level. It is more than the master suite as we have added a bunkbed.
Mid levels include two more large bed rooms, both kings, a bath, complete kitchen, dining area and the great room furnished to lend itself to enjoying satellite HDTV, reading, games, and conversation areas. Not to mention three decks for viewing the beautiful outdoors, having some quiet solitude, or visiting with family and friends.
The lower levels include one bedroom, queen size and a bunk bed, another bath, and an oversized game room with a faux wood burning stove, ping pong table, TV, games, music, even a queen wall bed for extra sleepers.
The kitchen/dining area is complete with microwave, dishwasher, disposal, cookware, dishes, utensils, blender, mixer, coffee pot, toaster, etc. Also stocked with salt, pepper, and spices. There is a large table, good for family or holiday feast. Adjoining patio has table, chairs & BBQ for picnic style dining.
There are electric heaters under each bathroom vanity, and in the bed rooms, living room, and game room. However, the preferred heating method is to sit in front of the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate.
Towels and extra linens are found in hall or lower level closet. There is a washer and dryer in the lower level.
If you need anything else, let us know when you leave, so we can provide it for your next visit!

Why they chose this property
We wanted a place away from the valley where all of the kids and grandkids could come and be together. We found the area while visiting friends in Whispering Pines in a gorgeous snowstorm the day after a warm Thanksgiving in Phoenix. It seemed like heaven to be able to share both worlds with only a two hour ride. We wanted in! We had the shell built and completed the house ourselves. We picked chandeliers from Mexico, rocks for the fireplace from all over the country, and furnishings from family pieces, 'gently used' and even broke down and bought a lot. It works as 'eclectic to the max,' The views in this area belong to God--we just bought here so we could share them. There is a feeling in the air here that brings out the best in people which makes them happy.
What makes this property unique
Inviting friends here for a day or a weekend is a joy for us & them. Everyday cares fall away as the pines, oaks, and juniper give the air a certain mountain tang. Actually, The 5,400 feet elevation makes the nights 25 degrees and days 15 degrees cooler than valley temperatures. Here, we have seasons that give us soft spring rain, exciting summer electriical storms, vivid autumn leaves, and frost, snow, & earmuffs.
We never tire of seeing the glorious views of 40 miles of Rim that we share with God. Sunsets from the north deck are amazing, and the experience of watching a storm approach through the valley until the new rain finally drives you from your nest in the porch swing inside--unforgettable. We have had many memorable family reunions here--there have been two Golden Wedding celebrations, a Honeymoon--the magic is just beginning. You won't want to forget your time here. Bring your best camera.
