Picture Perfect Chalet
As we drove up the hill and the chalet came into view, we could feel our concerns and worries slip away. The property is gorgeous. The chalet itself is well maintained and very clean. Sitting on the deck every morning and evening allows you to take in nature and remember why you chose to get away in the forest and mountains. We wanted for nothing as Gabriel made sure we had a well furnished and stocked chalet. Upon our arrival, we found a handwritten note informing us that dogs are not allowed on the bed (glad we remembered our pet bed), a milkbone, and a doggie blanket. The host is very thoughtful!
Check-in and check-out was a breeze. The host, Gabriel was a text away and responsive immediately.
We are already discussing when we will be back. Don’t pass up the opportunity to make memories at this peaceful chalet!
This was our second visit and just what we needed to get away from it all. Easy to book, clear instructions, and very accommodating. We will be back.
A GREAT ESCAPE
Our stay was absolutely perfect. We needed to de-stress and unwind, which started the moment we walked in to the gorgeous cabin. A bottle of wine awaited on the table, and as advertised, everything we needed was right there. = linens, towels, dishes, cookware, utensils, books, tons of toys & activities for kids, cooking condiments, Keurig coffee and cocoa, dish soap, laundry soap, paper towels, napkins, TP, iron & board, heating and cooling units, ceiling fans, extra blankets & pillows. Then outside several places to sit and enjoy the forest and breezes. It's a short walk down the driveway and down the little street to the East Verde Creek/bridge where we found wild blackberries. The creek could be heard from the cabin & was very relaxing. It was too rapid right there for the dogs to jump in, so we drove over to Third Crossing & found that the creek there was nice & wide & the dogs could go wading. Besides us, there were only 2 other people there, sitting in chairs in the shade of huge trees, just reading books. Behind the cabin, we easily got over the barbed wire fence & explored the woods that I believe are National Forest land so nobody is back there. Gabriel has thought of just about everything to make a stay there totally carefree. We will definitely go back.
Mogollon Monster 100 mile trail race sanctuary
We ae very happy with our decision to stay at this property. The very first thing my partner said after we got settled in and we were sitting on the patio was "I am telling you now, I won't want to leave."
The property worked great for the Mogollon Monster trail race (and would be great for anyone wanting to hike in the Washington Park trails). My pacer could follow my progress via the property's provided internet access and then walk the easy one mile to the Washington Park trail head. It was a blessing to have the laundry machine after the trail adventure and the stock of keurig coffee. I was impressed by the cute, hand-made mountain scenery decoration that adorned the bathroom soap . Thanks for a great experience. We hope to come back.
Beautiful cabin in the woods.
We thoroughly enjoyed this place! The location is ideal for those who want to have some quiet time in the forest. The nearby neighbors are far enough away to give a sense of having the surroundings all to yourself. With some great hiking trails very close by, it's a wonderful place to enjoy northern Arizona.
Leave the city behind, and prepare for an abundance of nature. Come to the base of the Majestic Mogollon Rim. After a beautiful 25 minute drive from the city of Payson you will arrive at our chalet. Our cabin is very secluded and is backed up to National Forest. Hiking trails off the back property offer easy access for nature lovers such as ourselves. The Highline trail as well as beautiful Washington park are minutes from the cabin. You may however, not want to leave the cabin. Our chalet is cozy and romantic. We feel it's an ideal place for a couple to take a break from the stresses of life. Enjoy a glass of wine on the deck while watching the many species of birds. Because of our proximity to the national forest we have no shortage of elk passing by. We invite you spend a few days in front of the Mogollon rim.
