About the host
Hosted by Bruce Brennan
I moved to Maine from Cape Cod in 1996. I have enjoyed many of the outdoor activities Maine has to offer. Winter skiing, skating and snowshoeing. Summer boating, kayaking, SUP, fishing, shellfishing, hiking, mountain biking. I can help you plan your stay if you would like or direct you to the areas I find most enjoyable. In addition to running the two Airbnb, I have a woodworking business that I run here also.
Why they chose this property
This neighborhood is ideal in what it offers : a great jumping off place to explore the beauty of Maine. Yes, it is a great walkable small city (town by most peoples standards) but you can get to a boatload of cool places in Maine in under a 45 minute drive.
And then there is the outdoor activities right here on the Kennebec River waterway: State beaches and Parks, hiking trails, biking trails, a huge network of accessible land in conservation, lighthouses, museums and tours. Restaurants are a two minute walk. Downtown is another couple of minutes, as is the Saturday farmers market. Our YMCA is located in the neighborhood and it boasts hiking and mountain biking right outside it’s doors.
What makes this property unique
Our property is unique in the way we have used a building from the 1800’s and converted the inside to a modern, well designed stay. The neighborhood is very safe, has off-street parking, and some nice outside seating and gardens.
