Maine - Always great
This large house needs just a little "tweaking" to be super. A little more furniture in some rooms, and maybe a ping-pong table in the large room in basement. The local management team is great to work with.
Great Visit to a great place and a fantastic place to stay in.
Our group spent a week running all over Acadia National Park and each night week retired to a great place with plenty of room for all of us (8) to be very comfortable. The location was excellent. Thank you for a great visit to the Bar Harbor area. We had a GREAT time.
We are always happy to hear great reports from our guests!!! Maine is a beautiful place to visit year round and we hope to see you next year!! THANK YOU for taking care of the place and cleaning up after yourselves!!
Sharon's Acadia Trip
We found this house nice and roomy and its location to Bar Harbor and Acadia was great. There were several things that could have been done to make this place even better. They need some new sheets - the ones they had were really thread bare and more towels needed for both bathrooms and kitchen. There was suppose to be extra linens in the closet but there wasn't anything Also, they need to come up with something that marks the driveway better. We got there after dark and had a hard time finding the right driveway. Also it looked as if there was only one smoke detector working. If these things were improved on would have earned more stars.
We are so happy that you had a great time in Bar Harbor this summer!! We also appreciate your suggestions on how we can make future stays more comfortable and relaxing for future guests!! We will gladly try to improve guests ability to locate the driveway that turns into the property.
Again we are so happy you enjoyed your stay and hope you visit Maine again in the future!!
A relaxing time and so peaceful
We enjoyed our stay. We were able to get into Acadia easily and into Bar Harbor when we wanted to. A beautiful view from the back deck. Just down the road was someone who sold mussels and clams and just across the street were fresh mushrooms. A free bus service runs regularly as well that will take you to Acadia and Bar Harbor so if people are going in different directions it is so easy to arrange. I would do it again.
Just a place to sleep
Ahh, big Home. Fit the 8 of comfortably. The home and the grounds can be beautiful once again someday. It needs a lot of work. It’s just a place to sleep. During our stay issues needed to be dealt with. Management was quick to respond! This isn’t a place to be comfy in. No curtains or pictures. The grounds were overgrown. The place was limited on supply. Stocked kitchen though. One set of towels per guest for the week. No dish towels. Coffee machine broken. Light fixtures with dead bulbs and clogged sinks. The place looks like it’s slowly being updated. The location is ok. If looking to never hang around. Then the place is fine for you. 2018. Give it a few years. This place has potential.
It is really unclear why these particular guests didn’t have a great time. We love Maine, love sharing it with our guests and always try our best to make your week here a happy Maine Vacation.
Hopefully next year will be better, as the guest that followed you found it to be.

Excellent accommodations and view!
Great location and great space for large groups.
Bar Harbor is Maine's most visited tourist destination. Whether it’s from the endless recreational activities in the surrounding area or the vast beauty the region has to offer, Bar Harbor continues to attract thousands and thousands every year.
With stunning, often breathtaking view, Acadia National Park should not be bypassed! It is a hiker’s paradise and offers many trails from novice to master hikers.
The scenic ocean drive also known as Park Loop Road offers 27 miles of granite mountain views, rocky coastlines, sandy beaches, crashing waves, lakes, ponds, moss and evergreens. With many scenic stopping points along the way there are abundant opportunities to take some phenomenal photographs.
Don’t visit Acadia National Park and skip Cadillac Mountain! It rises 1532’ over the coastline and you can drive or hike to the very top! It is the highest point along the North Atlantic seaboard and is the first place to view the sunrise in the United States! It offers panoramic views, parking and a gift shop.
Bar Harbor is home to many shops and eateries along Main Street. From the pier you can book a whale watching excursion, rent kayaks or take a windjammer cruise. The possibilities are endless.
Whether you come to Bar Harbor to “take it all in” or to “get away from it all” it will be a vacation you will never forget!
