We LOVED this VRBO. We stayed in 7 places or so - hotels, VRBOs, etc. during our vacation and this one was our absolute FAVORITE. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!!
The place was cozy and had everything I needed. The town was cute. There were plenty of places worth checking out. If I’m ever out that way again I would stay there.
Great central location for our "tour" of the U.P. Though Ishpeming was extremely quiet, the property was lovely, accommodating and pet friendly which was perfect for our guy-fit our needs perfectly and very well decoeated. Communication with owner was easy. Would definitely stay here again.
We were visiting family and found this little place to be perfect for antiquing, restaurants and main roads. It was cozy for the cold nights and great parking.
Between the lovely decor, the small town feel, and the pizza place that's a 2 minute walk away I struggle to find any complaints! Communication with the property owner was clear and effective, and we had a wonderful stay!
Enjoyed discovering downtown Ishpeming, as it is beginning to make a comeback. Easy to walk to some restaurants and bars. The RARE EARTH CAFE is outstanding : Varied menu items, and everything is great!! Don’t miss VELODROME COFFEE — great coffee shop. If you haven’t heard about PRESQUE ISLE PARK — about twenty minutes away in Marquette, check it out. It’s an amazing place. … likes a mini National Park.
Great place to stay! I really like how quiet it is at this unit. It feels safe and is perfect for accessing Marquette and avoiding crowds. Cost is fair. Ideas l: colander for spaghetti noodles. Perhaps a block with some kitchen knives…Medium sauce pan. It’s really a great place. I’ve stayed here before and love it. Thank you for being available and checking in with us when we arrived. Thank you for staying! We want all of our units to be well-equipped for cooking, so we will work on picking up the kitchen items you noted.
This is a great little space in Ishpeming! It was perfect for us while we moved our daughter back to NMU. The bed was super comfortable and we appreciated the AC and fans! Can't wait to stay here again but with our bikes this time!
Great 5-day stay with my dog. Had an online class all week, and wanted a change of scenery to take it. The WiFi worked very well for all-day Zoom sessions. The kitchen is super well equipped. Nice furnishings. Spencer was quick to communicate. I loved that the Al Quaal Recreation Area and RAMBA trails were less than 10 minutes away for some great doggie hikes. Marquette is 20 minutes, Pictured Rocks are about an hour. Loved the location and would happily stay again.

About the host

I'm the owner of West End Ski & Trail, a bike and trail sports shop in Ishpeming. Our shop's first location was the front unit at this property! I'm enthusiastic about trails and introducing people to this awesome community. We can offer rentals for mountain bikes, fat bikes, and bike path e-bikes, as well as guided mountain bike tours.
Why they chose this property
Downtown Ishpeming is a great hub for outside activity! We are close to the RAMBA trail network, which has 80 miles of singletrack for mountain biking, hiking, and trail running. In the winter, the trails are groomed for fat biking and snowshoeing. Snowmobile trails go through town, and for cross-country skiing, the UP Nordic Ski Complex is a couple minute drive away.
Ishpeming is only a 15 minute drive from Marquette, where you'll find even more trails and opportunities for outdoor activities year-round. The Iron Ore Heritage Rail Trail connects the two communities.
What makes this property unique
Our property is located right in downtown Ishpeming, one block off Main St. We are an amazing homebase for all of your adventures. Don't want to drive? We are walking distance from Velodrome Coffee, Rare Earth Goods Cafe, Congress Pizza, Mamma Mia's Italian restaurant, Buck's Restaurant, Buck's Subs, and Ish Creamery. Also nearby are a number of antique shops, a pharmacy, grocery store, etc.
