Experience country log home living at its best. Looking for that private, secluded “retreat” beside a rippling river. This home sleeps 8. There is an upstairs king with bath, two bedrooms (queen in one and single and full bed in another) with full bath on main floor, and full bed and single bed and bath on lower level. The master bedroom upstairs has river views, and one bedroom on main level has a queen bed. The bedroom with two full beds has view of river and glass door which opens onto the deck. Lower level has a double glass sliding door to River area. The dining area has a slider that opens to a full deck on the River.
You drive in a 1/4 mile drive across a wooden Bridge past old barns to the home.
This home is in the middle of 130 acres offering nature trails along the Prairie River. This seclusion offers an abundance of wildlife with common sightings of deer, wild turkey, herons, rabbits, squirrels, many species of birds, including hummingbirds. There are also occasional sittings of eagles, fox, mink, otters, etc. There is a large pond area near the drive into the property.
Easy to access; we are only 10 miles from the Indiana Toll Road, 2 1/2 hours from Chicago, 2 1/2 hours from Detroit, and just 30 minutes south of Kalamazoo MI.
The spring is a delightful time of year to watch the birth of a new season, on many occasions fawns can be seen wading in the river right out the cabin windows.
This peaceful riverfront three-story log home is on the edge of Amish Country. Take a drive through quaint Amish communities and shop at their many retail stores for food, flowers, baked goods and gifts. Situated only 30 miles from Shipshewana, a unique town with fantastic Amish dining and shopping. The famous Langley covered bridge is only a short drive or a bike ride away.
Sports enthusiasts; it is a few miles to great golf courses, many lakes and rivers for boating, fishing, kayaking in summer. Find both cross-country and downhill skiing within 30 miles for winter fun.
Satellite T.V. on each floor, with DVD and VHS players, and Xbox Kinect on lower level.

The owners; John and Pat Pierucki live next door and have developed this property, for 30 plus years, into a nature lovers paradise and a true get-away from the city.  They can guide you to many area attractions. John grew up just 3 miles from the home on Big Fish Lake and has lived in the area for 65 years. Pat grew up in the Kalamazoo area and this property is a labor of true love for all things wild and beautiful in God's creation. There goal is provide you with a great experience so you will want to return and bring friends and family to the area.
They want to provide you with the same great memories they have had for years of this fantastic small community. The Log home was their daughters and she has moved, so they want to share their piece of Paradise on Earth with others.

We own 65 acres on the River and the Log home is in the middle of it all. Wildlife can be seen almost daily. 
This home is a great place to stay if you are in the area for a wedding and reception, visiting family, any of the many great festivals or fairs that take place each year, or just a getaway/

What makes this property unique
The views from the windows and porches are great.  It is so relaxing to just sit and enjoy what Mother Nature is saying. Inside you have the experience of staying in a true full log home. There are River views from almost every room in the house.
