It was an awesome cozy cabin experience. Great place to relax after a day of hiking or biking. The house was stocked with toiletries and coffee! It’s also conveniently located near town in case you need supplies.
We loved our time here! Gabe and Trista were amazing hosts. The views are even better in person and we loved the hot tub. The cabin itself was clean, cozy and perfect for our getaway. If you need a vacation to get away from the hustle and bustle this is the perfect place. We can’t recommend it enough!
My boyfriend and I had such an amazing stay at the cabin! The mid century decor was stunning, and the hot tub was the cherry on top! Such. Relaxing and serene getaway!
Very nice for a couple. Plenty of room, comfortable, great hot tub and the firepit was well designed . once we found everything it was easy to cook our meals and enjoy the serenity.

Nice place, could use some work
Check in was a breeze, hot tub and outside area was unkept. Lost all power and water services for 6 hrs due to rain and wind. Not much space to explore on the property. Lots if dead branches hanging down over you and your vehicles, caused some minor dings to my car and was a constant threat while spending time out on porch and in hot tub. For a couple trying to get out of the city, this is a nice spot, families and bigger groups might want to look elsewhere.

What a bummer... It sounds like Theo left a 3-star review because of Mother Nature in conjunction with weeks of non-stop significant winter storms and including winds....so sorry to hear that.. We do the best we can during the winter months. As anywhere, things happen, and branches fall and could damage our property or someone else's car or property. Power outages are outside of our control and this was a massive outage across the ENTIRE region.
The property is 2.4 acres with a small creek and it's more long than wide. You can explore down the hill and past the creek. Maybe they did not want to spend the energy going down to come back up.
Theo and his group left a lot of trash and dirty dishes with a broken/chipped bowl. Someone used one of our true vintage antique decorative plate ($80) and damaged it with a steak knife ruining the image/paint. We were quite shocked to see that. I would normally bill for damages but I did not bother to do so because of the unfortunate weather and power outage.
We hope this response can provide insights to the 3-star review received by Theo.
Our 36th wedding anniversary plan was to go to the Blue ridge mountains ! We rented this delightful cabin with a mountain overlook, spent late evenings in the hot tub. Quietlocale, though it backs up to a small neighborhood, you never knew they were there. Found several awesome restaurants "The Barn"for breakfast or lunch and "The Mason Jar" for lunch or dinner. Cabin is perfectly located for day trips. Hosts Gabe and Trista were easy to talk to and helpful. The cabin is setup just like a home dishes ,pans ,toaster, mirowave and coffee maker! Any supplies needed for toilet. The hosts provide to insure your visit is awesome! The squirrels, rabbits and deer are welcome neighbors in the stunning views.
We had such a wonderful stay at this little mountain getaway near the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was quiet, cozy, and tucked away just enough to feel peaceful, but still close to everything we wanted to explore around Hillsville. It ended up being the perfect spot for celebrating my wife’s birthday.Traveling with a 2‑year‑old can be hit or miss, but this place made it easy. We spent our days spotting animals, checking out nearby parks, splashing in the river, and just wandering around with no real plan—exactly the kind of slow, simple fun we were hoping for. Every drive felt scenic, every stop felt close by, and coming back to such a comfortable place at the end of the day made it even better. It’s the kind of stay that leaves you feeling refreshed and already thinking about when you can return. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet mountain escape with plenty to do nearby.
