About this property
A 'Hidden Gem,' In Its Own Private Walled Courtyard Just Outside Carcassonne
5/5 stars, "Exceptional" average review.
Welcome to our delightful three bedroom character house - which has to date garnered an average VRBO guest review of "exceptional," or 5/5 stars. As proud owners and new renters of our holiday home, we are committed to delivering a stellar guest experience.
Our historic home is set within its own large, private courtyard - perfect for a glass of rose and aperos after a day of hiking, wine tasting, or sightseeing. Or you can dine al fresco, with the built-in barbecue. This historic village home has been restored to retain its vintage charm, while offering all the modern amenities discerning travelers require. The home's three floors of living space include: open plan ground floor living room, dining room and kitchen - plus a half bath, and a separate laundry room with washer and dryer. Two spacious, sunny bedrooms on the first floor share a full bathroom. The top floor features the primary suite, including: a large sunny, airy bedroom; full spacious bathroom with tub; separate reading alcove where you can curl up with a book; and a private terrace - the perfect spot for your morning coffee. Charming, authentic architectural features abound, including exposed beams, exposed stone walls, original tile and stained glass windows.
This is our holiday home, and not an impersonal rental property. So when you stay in our home, you will find the kinds of personal touches we appreciate when we travel, including small but helpful touches like jam and butter in the fridge and shampoo in the shower.
The property is situated in Villenueve-Minervois, one of the most charming and authentic villages of the Minervois wine region, and typical of the region with its shady boulevards, plane trees, bakery, butcher, produce market, drug store and restaurants - all just a beautiful stroll from the house. The property is ideal if you enjoy all things local and a sense of independence; from markets, wine tasting and local delicacies to mountain walks and relatively undiscovered remote villages. However, it will also suit those who require a more focused stay as well-know attractions such as Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi are within a short drive. The property provides a cool haven in the summer but also has a fantastic wood burning stove and central heating providing a good all year round base to enjoy activities from walking in the spring, to Bastille Day and the enchanting Christmas market in Carcassonne.
Ours is a beautiful boutique property that has extra touches, such as high-end bed linens, state-of-the-art electronics and super-fast fiber WIFI , to make your stay as luxurious as possible.

What a fantastic property right in the heart of a thriving & friendly village, that really does have the "wow" factor. The quality of everything from the bed linen to the widescreen TV makes this feel home from home. Sandy has thought of everything with some lovely touches around the home to make for a super comfortable stay.Absolutely loads to see & do on the doorstep & well definitely be back !
We are a family of 5 and enjoyed a wonderful 12 night stay. The property was as described and was a true hidden gem, very clean and tidy with comfy beds, quality bedding and plenty of towels provided. The courtyard was beautiful and we enjoyed sitting out and spending time there for meals and relaxing in the evening. Excellent communication throughout with the host who was very friendly and provided a good welcome guide with lots of information and suggestions about the surrounding area and places to visit. The location was excellent, a very pretty village with good amenities. The property is in a great location, near to the beautiful city of Carcassonne. We enjoyed visiting the local Truffle Museum and windmill, exploring the lakes nearby as well as travelling to Narbonne, Gruissan and Montpellier. We also drove into Spain and visited the city of Girona. We would not hesitate to return.
