Enjoy the views atop Quincy Hill from this 144+ year old landmark: one of the oldest buildings in the area. Built originally as elite executive mining housing, The Quincy House property still retains it's original carriage house/barn: the only one like it in the Keweenaw with original horse stalls.

The Maid's Quarters Suite includes ceiling fans in both the bedroom and living room, is on the 2nd floor, no elevator and 500 sq. ft. Our private driveway is large with plenty of free parking and turn around space for trucks with trailers (**space may be limited in winter with our usual huge snow banks).

**For those sensitive to pets: we have a couple resident cats who patrol this old house and its many nooks and crannies so please be aware if you are prone to allergy. They are kept out of the Maid's Quarters at all times and are very cleanly maintained.

Quincy House, completed in 1882 is an Italianate Victorian mansion built by Quincy Mining Company to prominently house its highest ranking area official, the Mine Agent / Superintendent. It is the last standing mining company agent's house among the many mines that once exploited the area for copper. Built more lavishly than other mine company structures, it served as an elite social center during the copper mine boom. Quincy House is currently undergoing restoration and preservation. You will be staying in the private, newly restored rear section of the house. We reside in the separate but connected front section that is under restoration. Both sections are separated from each other and you will not be disturbed by ongoing restorations during your stay. Your privacy and comfort is our utmost concern. We are happy to talk more about the history and meaning this house to the bygone copper boom which helped electrify the nation. Ongoing restorations progress every day and you will witness them in real time.

Quincy House has, is and will be undergoing restoration and preservation for years to come. In no way will this negatively effect your stay. In fact you will be able to witness how we are transforming and restoring this prominent 144+ year old Victorian Mansion back into the monarch of Quincy Hill it once was.

In addition, your stay will benefit the house as all proceeds we receive from your visit are put directly into the Quincy House Preservation Foundation, a 501c3 charitable nonprofit organization formed and operated by us to restore and sustain the house now and for the future as a valuable historic educational interpretation of Copper Country history.

The work they are doing to restore the property, from what we could see, was fabulous! Our suite was amazing and the breakfast was delicious. My sister has allergies and they accommodated her needs. The real test with the food is that I can eat whatever and even though the pastries were gluten free they were wonderful!

My friend and I absolutely loved our weekend stay in this suite. The hosts were attentive, the location was great, and the suite itself was exquisite. We so appreciated the attention to detail, and the delicious homemade breakfasts were a touch that set this property far apart from others. The fascinating history of the house and hearing about the renovations that are taking place were an unexpected bonus. We would stay again and will recommend to anyone traveling this way!

The suite is even better than the pictures. We felt like royalty in the gorgeous rooms. It was very comfortable and I loved the rain style shower. The hosts were both friendly and helpful while allowing for a private, quiet space. The breakfast was divine each day and they offered to accommodate to our child's preferences. They gave some great recommendations on things to do in the area, and it is a convenient location to town or for traveling farther into the peninsula.

The only thing disappointing about this property is we could only stay one night. The home is being rehabbed to its original glory. Our rooms were full of Victorian charm and plentiful amenities. The host's communication was excellent and welcoming.

The stay here was completely amazing. The owners are extremely kind, friendly and accommodating. I have traveled a lot over my many years and this was hands down the best stay I have ever had. I actually got sad checking out. I will stay no other place in the Keweenaw Peninsula. I definitely plan on going back and will adjust my travel plans to make sure i can stay there. The food was fantastic and the chef makes a thimbleberry jam that is a must have. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and very clean. I can not recommend them enough.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at the Quincy House! David and Zach are such great hosts! Each morning a delicious, hot breakfast was prepared for us and beautifully presented! Our experience was unforgettable and our expectations exceeded! David and Zach are welcoming and warm. The room we were in (Maid’s Quarters) was comfortable and very nicely restored/decorated with beautiful antique furniture! Snacks, mini fridge, microwave and toiletries were provided! Fresh flowers were such a thoughtful touch! Very highly recommend David and Zach’s place if you are visiting Houghton/Hancock or the Keweenaw! We also recommend doing the Quincy Mine Tour. We look forward to returning!

This is a beautiful old home from 1888 that is carefully being restored. We had a comfortable sitting area off from the bedroom and bath. The woodwork details in the house are awesome. We had fresh cut lilac flowers in our room. The owners have put a lot of attention into the details that made our stay unique. We look forward to a return trip.

Wonderful accommodations!

The renovated maid’s quarters in the historic Quincy House was the perfect space for my week-long visit to the Copper Country. Safe, clean, well appointed, and a great location for all that the Keweenaw offers. Plenty of history, hiking trails, views, and delicious food nearby!

This was an amazing stay! It is a large, historic house which the hosts are lovingly restoring to its former glory. If you love great food, friendly hosts, and beautiful accommodations, this is the place. A homemade, bountiful breakfast was delivered to our room each morning (owner/chef). They attended to every need from toiletries, snacks/drinks, a white noise machine, and phone chargers. We stayed in the former "maid's quarters" with two newly decorated and very clean rooms, one of which included a spacious sitting area. We felt very well cared for. Learning about the restoration process and the property's history was a bonus. The view from the top of the hill is lovely, with easy access to nearby attractions and a short drive into town. The beds were comfortable, the gorgeous shower was next level. It should be called "Queen's Quarters" because we were treated as royalty:) Thank you for a wonderful stay; we hope to visit again!
