I was genuinely disappointed to read your review. especially since you had personally messaged me beforehand to say you wouldn't be posting anything negative because you believed everyone deserves the opportunity to address an issue and make things right. I truly appreciated that sentiment, which makes this review even more disheartening. Regarding the towel you mentioned, the basket in the bathroom you referred to is not for guest use. It's a storage basket that contains laundry washing essentials. The towel inside was one of our cleaning towels, not a dirty or used guest towel. It's art of our supply area, not part of guest amenities. As for the food items in the fridge, those are provided intentionally for guest convenience. Many of our guests appreciate having complimentary basics such as water, butter, condiments, and small snacks available upon arrival so they don't have to immediately go out shopping. Especially those arriving late with children or after long travel days. This practice has always been well received. We also provide every guest with a 24-hour contact number for our on-site property manager, who lives just a few houses down. That number is sent before your check-in and is printed clearly in our welcome book located on the kitchen table. Had you contacted us during your stay, we would have immediately resolved any concern you had. While no home or situation is perfect, we always act promptly and in good faith to correct anything that falls short of expectations. We value all feedback because it helps us improve, but we were disappointed to see this review despite our communication and apology.

While we appreciate feedback, I find your review to be highly inaccurate & frankly, unfair. Referring to the neighborhood as "dumpy" or "ugly" is not only false but also discriminatory toward the hardworking, blue-collar families who live there. The property is located in an established residential area, surrounded by well-maintained homes. Many valued at over $250k and ongoing historical restorations. There is nothing "dumpy" about a community of honest, working people who take pride in their homes and surroundings. As for the home itself, your claims about cleanliness are simply exaggerated and untrue. Prior to your arrival, our team spent hours cleaning and ensuring that your very specific and unorthodox cleaning requests were done. Avoiding all chemical products, removing all plug in air fresheners, cleaning with only unscented products and vinegar/soda and purchasing new bedding and towels for your stay (receipts are available to verify). We only used a small amount of vinegar, as another guest was checking in the same day and not everyone appreciates its strong scent. The plug-ins you mentioned were not air fresheners but insect deterrents, to help keep the home pest free. Although you mentioned bugs in your review, it's important to note that you left the doors open for hours, which resulted in bugs entering the home. Our cleaning team spent considerable time afterward removing them and restoring the property. The microwave was new and unboxed on the day of your check-in. The decks and outdoor spaces were cleared and blown before your arrival with timestamped videos documenting their condition. Your stay took place in the fall season, when leaves naturally fall daily from the many trees surrounding the property. Some light dust and debris on the exterior windows are to be expected due to outdoor conditions, which are beyond anyone's control. The lawn measured no more than two inches in height. It's also worth noting that every guest receives a 24/7 contact number for our property manager that lives a few houses down, listed in both the welcome book and your check-in welcome message. You never reached out during your stay to report a single issue. Something that could have easily resolved any concern. Instead, this review was left after checkout, filled with exaggerations and discriminatory remarks that misrepresent both our home and community. It directly impacts the livelihoods of good people who take pride in what they do. Hosting is our profession, and we put a lot of effort into providing a welcoming, comfortable stay for every guest. Unfounded and unkind words can genuinely hurt small business owners and their teams. As faith teaches, "judgement without fairness is displeasing in God's eyes." We stand by the quality of our property, and our commitment to fairness despite misleading reviews such as this.
