Butler House is a comfortable, year-round retreat offering the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure in the heart of the Rangeley region. With water access to beautiful Rangeley Lake just about a mile away, guests can enjoy a shared swimming area along with use of a double kayak—complete with oars and life vests provided. Whether you're visiting in summer or winter, the location makes it easy to experience everything the area has to offer.

Conveniently located just a short drive from Saddleback Mountain and downtown Rangeley, Butler House is ideal for both outdoor enthusiasts and those looking to explore local shops and dining. In the winter months, step right out your back door for direct access to snowmobile trails, making it a great home base for trail riding and snowy adventures.

Inside, the home is thoughtfully equipped for a comfortable stay, featuring a fully stocked kitchen, washer and dryer, air conditioning, and a cozy living room with a viewing gas stove—perfect for unwinding after a day outdoors. Guests can also enjoy the propane grill for easy meals at home, and pets are welcome, so the whole family can join in on the getaway.

Sleeping Arrangements: First Bedroom Upper Level Queen, Second Bedroom Upper Level Queen, Third Bedroom Upper Level Queen (with private bathroom). Sleeps up to 8 guests.

Additional Sleeping Arrangements: One Queen and one Double Pullout Sofa in Upper Level Hall. Lower Level has Two Double Beds (unfinished basement).

Location: 0.2 miles to downtown Rangeley, 8.4 miles to downtown Oquossoc, 7.6 miles to Saddleback Mountain.

Shared Access: Shared waterfront access on Rangeley Lake, including swim platform, dock (no boats!), picnic tables, bathroom facilities, BBQ pit, beach area.

FAQs: Propane grill available mid-May through mid-October. Double kayak for renters use down at shared waterfront - oars and life vests in basement. This home does not have ATV access. NO SMOKING.

Pet Friendly: This home will welcome pets to enjoy the property

Snowmobile Access: NO snowmobile access via Rangeley Lake. Access the Rangeley trail system by utilizing Marion Drive Ext to the power lines heading north.

Parking: 4 if a trailer is present. 6 if no trailer.

Butler House

We enjoyed our stay at the Butler House. The location is great and only a short drive for downhill and xcountry skiing. The main floor living area is very comfortable. The upstairs bedrooms worked well for our family. It would be if the basement were finished. Overall it's a nice rustic home.

A great place to stay for Snowmobiling

A large enough parking lot for 2 4 place trailers and direct access. Overall, the house was very clean and roomy.

We had a great stay at the Butler house. It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Only 15 minutes from door to Saddleback parking lot. Plenty of room for myself, my brother & sister-in-law, our 3 young adult children and our pup. We would definitely stay there again.

The Butler house was perfect for two families. The house is well maintained and very cozy! Plenty of space, with a bonus room in the basement for the kids to play. The gas fireplace gave beautiful ambiance with the bear decor. The views of the lake and easy access to Saddleback made the stay even better! Morton and Furbish were top notch and on top of everything. Will definitely rent again.

Perfect Home for skiing Saddleback

We stayed here with another family of four (so 8 of us in total) and had so much space for each of us. The house is exactly as pictured and was very clean and comfortable. Check in and out was a breeze. The drive to the mountain was under 15 minutes. Will absolutely be looking to rent again next time we are up in Rangeley.

This house was great, well stocked with plates, utensils, Lights were labeled. Plenty of towels and great bedrooms with a/c if needed. The deck and grill were great. Very close to the IGA and downtown. The basement gave 2 more beds and the washer dryer was appreciated. Big open beautiful house with comfortable couch chairs and big table as well as an island for eating. Two problems, the island was always sticky and the TV didn't work despite being fixed by Dan from MF. The dock at town & lake was great.

Great House

This is our second year at the Butler House. It is close to attractions, as well as to town. The house is great for a group with multiple sleeping spaces and areas to hangout. The main floor is open so those cooking can socialize with everyone else. The kitchen is well-stocked with cooking utensils, pots/pans, plates/silverware and appliances. We can't wait to come back next year.

House was immaculate upon arrival, heat was on and we were able to move right in. Great location. Easy access to snowmobile trails and great walks with the dogs and kids. Close to town makes for an easy trip to IGA or in town for food. Wifi worked well so I could get some work done while there. House has games and puzzles that made for some great family time. Beds were comfortable and our family of 6 felt like we had plenty of space. Texting M&F worked out great as we arrived late and left early it made it easy to communicate with them our needs. We will definitely be back again.

Very nice place and well equipped in a lovely setting and we all really liked the house. Three negatives—-1) no curtains or shades on bedroom windows and really need some to keep out light in am. 2) could not use electric heaters in basement (we did use those beds) when they were turned on they blew the circuits even if we were not using the stove or other major power usage. 3) mattresses on pull outs were pretty bad, even good mattress pads would help. Biggest thing is to get curtains or shades on upstairs windows.

Yes! Yes! The Butler's home was great.

Only comment is that we did need to put 2 teenagers in the basement beds and it was cold down there and when plugged in space heaters we blew a breaker while cooking in the kitchen, could not run both at the same time. But overall…perfect space and location for our extended family Thanksgiving get away. Would definitely rent again. Thank you!

We did find a dead mouse in the basement next to the bar stools. Freaked out the girls.

The basement smelled musty and the girls said the beds were very uncomfortable. The house overall was what we expected. The girls were putting on makeup on the bed upstairs and it broke! I was there no funny business and we are not that large.

March Ski Trip

We loved the Butler house. We are 3 families w/ teenagers who do an annual ski trip. We have stayed in a lot of different places, but this one met all of our needs!!! Plenty of room for all , a great space for the teens. We couldn't have been happier. Close to mountain and downtown. We will defintely be back.

Little family get away

My whole experience with our stay was amazing! From the beautiful home to the amazing view I couldn't have asked for more. The house had everything we needed and it's so cozy. We will be back next year. The saddest part of leaving was our black lab literally wouldn't come off the porch to get in the truck lol. She did not want to leave either. She had to be picked up and put in the truck. Thank you Blais family for allowing us to borrow your beautiful get away.
