About this property
NEW Oh-Be-Joyful Ranch! Private cabin w hot tub & huge stone fireplace!
Welcome to the Oh-Be-Joyful Ranch (named after the famous Created Butte pass/hike)! A 7-acre ranch just 5 minutes from Crested Butte town and 10 minutes from Crested Butte skiing.
A unique opportunity to stay in a historic cabin that's been recently rehabbed, with 360 views of the mountains and wildflower-filled valley. If you're interested in immersing in nature, this is your place. Walk the 7-acre ranch, take in the mountains from the hot tub, sit under the killer stars around the fire pit or gather around the original wood-burning stone fireplace after a day of skiing.
This cozy space is an original cabin that's had multiple additions/upgrades, but still retains the original hearth and stone fireplace, woodwork, and character.
The cabin's upgrades include a sweeping 2-story entry and dining room, an upgraded fully-stocked kitchen with an open floor plan, and an upper-level loft that can be used as a workspace, for hanging out or as a 3rd bedroom (it has a full-sized bed, but note the loft must be accessed through the master bedroom).
There are three full bedrooms: one on the lower level with a queen bed and original log walls, a master suite on the upper level (with another queen bed and its own sitting area), and the upstairs loft bedroom. We have several inflatable mattresses with extra pillows and blankets if needed. There is a full bath on each level plus a laundry room on the lower level.
The cabin is full of original woodwork and features, Native American rugs, textiles, artwork and retro "ranch" found items.
There are new 100% cotton towels, sheets, cozy blankets and down comforters throughout. We also provide full-sized natural shampoo, conditioner and soaps in the bathrooms.
We've really taken care to fully stock the kitchen with all the pots, pans, bowls and cooking implements you'll need to create family meals, as well as serving bowls/platters/pitchers for memorable festive dinners, including holidays. There is coffee, salt/pepper, spices and other cooking basics provided.
Spend your time outdoors, where you'll find a sweet fenced backyard with the new 6-person hot tub, or the large brand new side patio with outdoor sitting area, chiminea and gas grill. When not outdoors, cook up a feast in the fully-equipped kitchen, cozy up by the large original stone fireplace, play one of the many board games provided or watch a movie on the HD TV with Amazon Firestick.
We've recently purchased this ranch as our personal passion project and are in the process of continuing to modernize the cabin and upgrade the outdoor spaces. Enjoy this authentic cabin experience and return again in the future to check out what’s to come!
Guests have access to the entire cabin, as well as the backyard, hot tub, large side patio, grill, seating area and chiminea.
Note: There are multiple outbuildings (like the old barn) which have yet to be rehabbed, so we appreciate folks enjoying the cabin on the Northern side of the ranch and steering clear of the other outbuildings/land, which are still in-progress and not yet safe for guests. There is an airstream on the far South side of the ranch this is occasionally used by the property manager. The airstream is several acres away from the cabin and on the other side of trees/the barn - you will have 100% privacy at the cabin, both indoors & out.
