- Hot tub under the stars

- King bed, open single‑level layout

- Full kitchen & bathroom for easy meals

- Patio, fire pit & BBQ grill

- Wifi, TV & Bluetooth sound system

The Space:

Cold mountain air settles as dusk falls, and the sky above the wooded hillside begins to glow with stars. Steam rises gently from the private hot tub while the quiet of the forest wraps around you, broken only by the soft rustle of leaves. Inside the dome, warm light filters through the dome’s glass panels, framing expansive views and creating a calm retreat from the outside world. You’ll feel the day’s adventures melt away as you sink into the king‑size bed and listen to the night’s chorus.

Sleeping arrangements

- One king bed in an open, single‑level layout, perfect for two guests.

- No stairs inside; the private entrance leads directly to the interior.

Bathroom

- Full indoor bathroom with shower and modern fixtures, allowing you to refresh without leaving the warmth of the dome.

Kitchen & dining

- Compact kitchen equipped for simple meals, with a stove, refrigerator, and basic cookware.

- Adjacent dining space lets you enjoy breakfast before heading out or a cozy dinner as temperatures drop.

Entertainment & connectivity

- Flat‑screen TV for relaxed evenings.

- Bluetooth sound system for music or podcasts.

- Wifi is provided, though speeds may vary in this remote mountain setting.

Outdoor living

- Private patio and balcony with seating, a fire pit, and a BBQ grill for outdoor cooking.

- Hot tub positioned for starlit soaking, offering a soothing end to the day.

- Seasonal layers are recommended to fully enjoy the crisp air and mountain views.

Setting & surroundings

- Tucked into Cooper Mountain’s wooded hillside, the dome sits within a large private retreat.

- Two other domes are nearby—one about 60 feet away and another over 120 feet away—so you may see other guests, yet each dome retains its own outdoor space for privacy.

- Adjacent to a private nature preserve with trails that invite exploration of the surrounding landscape.

Good to know

- The dome is not sealed like a traditional home; occasional insects such as crickets may appear, especially in early spring and summer.

- Outdoor areas are regularly swept, but leaves, pollen, or natural debris may still be present, adding to the authentic mountain experience.

- Climate control keeps the interior comfortable during cooler evenings.

Perfect for

- Couples seeking a peaceful escape, cozy winter evenings, and a close connection to nature without sacrificing comfort.

- Stargazers who want a private hot tub and clear night skies.

- Travelers who enjoy simple, self‑catered meals and the freedom to explore nearby trails.

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.

Why they chose this property

We spent years searching for the perfect getaway and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and Stargazer in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
