About Jacky and Chris Nelson
Jacky and Chris Nelson live in London but have strong links with the South West of the UK and Coventry. When we are not working, we are usually enjoying the out-doors playing golf, sailing and on the beach.
Jacky and Chris Nelson purchased this House in 2007
Why Jacky and Chris Nelson chose Nuevo Portil
We had been looking for a holiday home across Europe but most places were too small or too far from the beach, golf and restaurants. We also wanted to avoid the overcrowded 'lego land' developments that can be found on some of the more well known Costas. A chance find on the internet led us to this unspoilt and traditionally Spanish area which ticked all the boxes plus some. It's rare now to find an affordable house with good size bedrooms and garden space that is genuinely walking distance from the beach and golf - but we have managed it and we love it. We always planned to rent the house when we weren't able to be there and felt that this would be a fantastic place for all sorts of groups to enjoy.
What makes this House unique
The drive to the property is alongside the sea and the views are stunning; we were nearly sold on that alone. When we realised we could see the see from the terraces, had year round sunshine in the south facing garden plus a pergola for my bourgainvilla - we had to have it. Most of the bars and restaurants are Spanish giving a real experience of local food and tradition. No English breakfasts or fish and chip shops here. So, if like us, you want a fantastic beach, bars, restaurants and golf all within easy walking distance and still experience the unique friendly culture of the Spanish, this is the area for you.

Ideal for an Autumn Break
We found this an ideal place for an autumn break. We spent a lot of time walking along the lovely sandy beaches and just relaxing in the sun - The provision of beach chairs, parasol, picnic and cool bags added to our comfort.
The town house is equipped with everything we needed , with a choice of balconies to sit on in the sun!
The area is a favourite of Spanish tourists and we didn't hear any English spoken while we were there.
We had a great day in Seville, about an hour and a quarter by car. A visit to the Royal Alcazar is a must - make sure you book your tickets before you go, we would have been queuing for hours if we hadn't! (even in October).
We also drove over the border into Portugal and visited one of our favourite beaches at Manta Rota.
Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely home
Great place. Highly recommend!
Great all around. Clean, tons of amenities and everything you want and need for a nice vacation. Close to the beach and Huelva city center.
Great Family Break
Brisa del Mar was well equiped, comfortable and clean and provided the four of us with a good base to explore the surrounding area, also was ideal for our sons wedding venue which was close by, We all really enjoyed the pool. The beach was a little far away for walking in the heat, but we went on to Islantilla for a day on the beach which was really nice. Definitely need a car for the area and for getting from and to the airport. Jacky and Chris were great as hosts and clearly take pride in Brisa Del Mar, Thank you for all the information and help with our stay, we hope to be back again sometime. Julie and family
Wonderful house. Recommended.
We (family of 6 with 4 boys aged 15/13/11/8) had a brilliant week staying at Brisa Del Mar.
Beautiful, clean house with everything you could need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Fully equipped kitchen, lots of beach kit for use and though we actually never used them the ability to use 2 bicycles is a great bonus.
The pool was a good size and had plenty of space around.
A few cafes/bars are a short 5-10min walk away, including a lovely fish restaurant we went to twice during our stay (Zamba Gambas). The beach is a couple of minutes past these. A bit further away (another 10-15 mins walk) there are further bars and restaurants and the all important (for my boys anyway!) heladarias.
Overall a lovely house in a lovely area with many Spanish holidaymakers. Recommended.
Fantastic well equipped house, located in a nice, family friendly, complex with a great pool and close to the beach.
We felt the house exactly matched the listing and had great and helpful communication with the owners at all stages.
Very helpful owner, clean house and everything arranged excellent!
Costa de la Luz is one of Spain's best kept secrets with miles of unspoilt blue ribbon beaches backed with pine forests & sand dunes. Water sports are popular and south west facing coast provides fabulous sunsets. Other activities nearby include birdwatching at the local lake & nature reserve, horse riding, racing at the karting circuit or cooling down in the summer at the water park. For some true Spanish culture and architecture, visit some of the many small towns and villages or spend a day in Seville. Other excursions include boats trip us the river guardiana between Spain & Portugal, the Rio Tinto Mining Museum or a foot ferry to the sand spit (La Flecha) opposite Nuevo Portil.
For golfers there are many excellent courses within an hours easy drive for players of all abilities. Green fees are often half the prices found in Portugal and courses are much quieter.
This is a fabulous, unspoilt and still traditionally Spanish area for families & couples seeking lovely beaches, golf or just some relaxing sunshine.
Other Activities: Bird watching, karting, water park (seasonal)
Nuevo portil: About 8 minutes' walk from our house, this is an easy walking course winding through the pine trees and houses of Nuevo Portil and El Portil. Look out for the special offers after 2pm from just €25 around.

Islantilla: A very popular golf resort about 20 mins away with three 9 hole courses to mix and match. Some tight fairways between the holiday apartments - be warned!

Costa Esuri: This is a long course but easy walking with some stunning views of the bridge linking Spain and Portugal over the Guadiana river and the natural marshland.
Dunas de Doñana: Dunas de Doñana Golf Club is located at the southern end of one of the most important national parks in Europe, La Cota de Doñana.
There are many more courses just over the border in Portugal easily reachable and playable as a day out.
