The cabin was a great rustic stop for us after backpacking on the coast. It’s well-stocked and close to the lake, and is within driving distance of everything Lake Quinault has to offer.
this cozy little cabin was perfect for a family getaway to explore the coast and the forests. Communication with the owner was always prompt and very kind.
Nice property for a night’s stay on the south side of Olympic National Park. Our GPS wouldn’t map to the house because of work on the portion of the road we didn’t drive on, but Mimi was responsive to calls/questions. This was one of my kids’ favorite family vacations and this place added to the charm.
I was half way across the country and just took a shot in the dark. I was happy I did me and my son loved this place would recommend strongly.

Disliked: Check-in, communication
Cancelled on us
We never stayed at this property because the host never sent the instructions for our check in. 24hrs in advance we called vrbo and they tried getting a hold of the host and no luck, so vrbo cancelled our stay. Afterwords, we were notified that the host sends check in information the morning of your stay.
We had a wonderful stay at this property. It has a lot of character and we loved the history that was provided in the welcome book. Fantastic views of the lake from the fire pit and hot tub. Access to the shoreline is a 5 minute walk down the road to the boat launch since the property is above the lake. The teens enjoyed making trips to the lake to collect firewood and skip rocks. The little market down the road is bigger than it looks with lots of supplies. The location can't be beat.

Liked: Listing accuracy
Disliked: Check-in, communication, location
This VRBO is called rustic, but can better be described as junky. It was fairly clean but not well cared for, and smelled like sweaty, wet socks. I had to reach out to the host the night before in order to get the access code for the property. I did receive the code from her within an hour and a half. She asked me to call her cell phone if I had any questions, but when we had a problem and needed to call her, she didn’t answer and her voicemail was full. There was only enough hot water for one shower, and no cold water in the bathroom sink. Expect to be asked to sweep the floor and wipe the counters.

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
Location was ok, could walk down to lake Quinault
Bedding comfortable
However BBQ was filthy
Very little cutlery, no decent drinking glasses or wine glasses
Small table next to wall for eating
Room for a lot of improvement given the price
We have stayed in 2 lovely airbnbs since similar price and they were immaculate, well provisioned and had nice touches
Also owner had not remembered to give us code to get in. This wasted a lot of time as we had to find a spot with phone reception to contact her. Suggest communication needs to be improved
We were very grateful to find this location on short notice. It was fairly comfortable inside. We loved the hot tub. The big yard is great for kids and dogs, but its not fenced, which was not a problem for us because our dog is not a runner. There was plenty of parking in the driveway for our truck and boat, but its not a diveway for rooky trailer drivers. It was also just two minutes from the shoreline boat launch, which was fantastic. The downside....it is a VERY rustic cabin. The cleanliness was average. The queen bed in one bedroom is on a super short bed frame. Great for kids, but taller adults might not like it. That bedroom also had an ant colony traveling up and down the paneling. We could also hear scratching in the walls/attic between the bedrooms at night. Rats would be my guess, but maybe bats? I dont know. Also, very low water pressure. For someone with long, thick hair, it did not make for a good shower. The host was responsive and kind, and I think this place has potential with a bit more TLC. My hubby said he would consider staying again if he was with one of his fishing buddies. Me and the kiddo are hesitant to go back unless we know it improves a bit. I took forever to write this review because we were so grateful to find something that worked on short notice and I dont like leaving poor reviews. But there is enough here that should be addressed I ultimately decided I should still share our experience, good and not so good.
