We spent a great four nights here in June of 2025. The cabin is in a excellent location and came as advertised. Owner communication was prompt and he even mailed us an item one of our kids left behind. We would be happy to stay here again
A great stay! Clean space with eclectic decor. The location was great and check in process was super smooth. I'd say don't except high speed wifi but then you're going to the woods to enjoy the nature.
Just what we wanted…. A cabin in the woods! Very nice comfortable house with a very well supplied kitchen for big family meals. Great deck for sun and relaxing.
We enjoyed our stay very much!

My family of four stayed at this cabin for 3 days in August. We had a great time and loved staying here. It was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed being able to walk to the Tahoe House Bakery in the mornings. The owner was very friendly and helpful in answering any questions we may have had. Thank you!

I wanted to thank this traveler for this review. I also want to say
that my home because of its significant size is more a house than a "cabin".

Great 4th of July holiday with Danish guests
We invited my brothers family to spend 4th of July week with us at Tahoe while they visited us in California. We found this place on the vrbo.com site and it looked great from the pictures. It turned out to be more than great and we spend 5 wonderful days at this beautiful place. The house had great bed rooms for everyone and the kids enjoyed having their own room downstairs.
For us the house is walking distance to Tahoe City (takes less than 30 min) and with the traffic it actually turned out to be faster to walk.
This was the first time we rented a house through vrbo and the owner was extremely friendly and helpful with everything. We would defintely like to come back another time!

Hi wanted to thank this reviewer for his response. July 4th car traffic can be heavy and walking to town during this time works.
For the money paid, this didn’t even rate close to a motel 6! Completely outdated & falling apart. No AC, beds were sink holes, ants in the house, hot as hell, no deck chairs, BBQ was a Coleman stove & a laundry list of NO-NO’s compiled by the property owner. Extremely disappointed for the money spent. Don’t do it!

I want to thank this guest for staying. BUT, I have 108 five star reviews on VRBO and the other well known on line site with 6 five star reviews in 2022. The beds are great, there are no ants, and A/C is out of place in Tahoe. The postings are County mandated including enforced limitations on BBQ ing during fire season which this guest could not abide which is what his review stems from together with my not providing beach chairs. Again the vast majority of reviews are five stars. Disregard his comments completely. The house is beautiful.

The location is nice and the rental is large. Extreamly dirty though for having a cleaning service. Dust so bad we all had to buy allergy medicine. The curling fan had a dust ball hanging from the blades the size of a small mouse. Couldn’t turn it on to cool the property or else more dust spreading. Dust so bad on the rafters in the master bedroom you could see it hanging over the sides.
Furniture and Devore is very dated and Kitchen cabinet door under sink was broken and hanging. Mold on the ceiling of the master bedroom shower.
Luckily we We’re barely there because we were in town for a wedding for a very short two days day. Very large though so can accommodate a lot of people. For the price you paid for the unit and the fact that they have a brand new cleaning service I assumed it would be in better shape. I’m not a very picky person either but this was even bad for me.

I want to thank this guest for staying. But his criticisms are completely false and stem
from spite at not having been granted early arrival. I am a Superhost on the other main
on line site where 90% of 92 guest reviews are Five Star including one Five Star review for a stay 3 days prior to this guest's stay. I check the house on a monthly basis and it is immaculate. Disregard his comments completely.

Great Summer rental
Overall, this is a solid rental and great bang for your buck. The house comfortably fit our party of 8, and we didn't even use the bunk beds downstairs. This is not Tahoe luxury living, but the cabin is very true to the amenity description. Henry, the owner / manager, was exceptionally responsive and helpful with all of our inquiries. I had a question for him when I arrived at the house, and he responded via a phone call within 15-20 minutes, which is quite impressive. He seemed like he genuinely wanted to ensure we had the best experience possible. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were comfortable. No issues with either of the two bathrooms. The deck was very large, which was perfect for our group to enjoy dinner and drinks outside. There are several small details which may have lowered this rating slightly to a 4.5 out of 5. The outdoor grill is quite small, so only a very limited amount of grilling can be done. A few of the upstairs widows did not have screens, so I chose not to open them rather than potentially get eaten by bugs. The TV is quite dated, uses an antenna for limited channels, and no HD, which is a bummer when Alabama and FSU are playing week 1 of the season. And like I mentioned before, this is not a luxury cabin, but just a good deal with a property manager than you couldn't ask anything more of. I would definitely stay here again.
We all enjoyed our time there we felt it was clean and safe.
The two things we didn’t like was that the room upstairs was super hot and didn’t cool down until 500 am and that there was not enough beds for the 7 of us !

I want to thank Rodica for staying. The house DOES have 7 beds including one king and two queens. Occasionally the Sierras can get hot in the summer. Disregard her "didn't like" completely. The house is beautiful.
Cozy cabin in a perfect location. Everything was as advertised and enjoyable.

Great location and price
The location was excellent, with a 20 minute walk to Tahoe city along a protected bike lane. The cabin itself was clean and functional, although a bit dated. Grill situation was strange to say the least - it was a tiny camping grill bolted to the driveway. It was too small to use so we ended up baking our dishes in the oven. Overall we had a good time and thought it was reasonable for the price. Thanks for a fun trip!

I want to thank James for his kind review. Antiques and original artwork should not be construed as "dated." The BBQ did not merit comment as it is clearly explained on the site.

A nice stay, in a comfortable home
The cabin was perfect for before and after my daughter’s wedding. We had a lovely family dinner on the deck, the beds were comfortable, a nice big fridge for wedding leftovers. There is an excellent library of books to chose from. It is not fancy but is very comfortable. The owner is wonderful, very accommodating, responsive to questions and needs. I definitely recommend this cabin & will return if we plan another trip to Tahoe City.

Very pleasant
The cabin is very cozy and is close to everything. Henry answered all my questions and gave me locations to eat at while in Tahoe. He responds quick to email and the cabin instructions are very easy to follow (check in and out, internet, etc.)

Simple, quaint, clean
Just as described. Very clear communication from owner. But the main winner here is location, location, location. Easiest entry into Alpine or Squaw, tons of other activities around too. Thanks!

Good location, warm and cozy, Henry is the nicest host!
We were a family of 5 and a couole that joined us and the cabin was perfect for our needs. The only thing I will advise is to bring all the cooking essential (oil, flour, suger, spices etc' even coffee and tea!) as there is nothing in the cabin beside salt and pepper as far as food. Everything else was perfect.

Charming but simple cabin in great location
The cabin was in a great location for a wedding weekend full of activities in the tahoe city area. Walkable to most everything we needed. 4 bedrooms that are clean and simple. Bathrooms are small, but functional. Kitchen had everything we needed. TV has only the basic channels but works. Nice cozy living room with 6 person dining table.
Stairs to the basement bedroom are quite steep and can be a bit dangerous, and the host really prefers that a minimum amount of cooking be done at the cabin.
All in all we really enjoyed our stay and the cabin was everything we needed. Would stay there again!

I want to thank this guest for staying, as well as his positive comments and wish to return. However, a request not to cook bacon during bear season is not a discouragement for using the kitchen and his comment about the staircase is
inappropriate.

Super Comfy
House was very comfortable, clean, and stocked with everything we needed for an easy stay. Close to paved bike trail and to zipline/ropes course at Granlibakken, both super for kids. Owner was easy to work with and very nice. Thank you again.

Summer Days and Family Fun
I absolutely LOVED my time in Tahoe, and I would have likely gotten out and spent more time at the water (which was the intended target) if it had not been such a relaxing and charming atmosphere at this house! The large deck was so inviting for curling up with a great book and and a cup of tea. I simply felt at home here. In the living room I was enchanted with the custom etched fireplace glass I can't wait to go back when it is chilly enough to warrant a small fire!! My whole family was in love with the basement room. This is probably a best bet for kids with it's built in bunk beds and large built in canopy type bed, but I have to be honest, it completely inspired my inner child and I was ready to displace my own children and build a fort! This whole place was full of magic for our family. Me and my husband were able to sleep wonderfully in one of the main floor rooms and my mother took the large loft room with it's own bathroom upstairs. The owner is wonderful and full of knowledge. You can tell he truly loves his community and takes pride in his home. Next time (and there will be a next time!) we will be bringing more kids and staying a few more days. The location is so perfect to let the kids wander and also to trip through town and down to the local beaches and parks. I would recommend Sugar Pine Point if you get chance!

Much needed R&R
I had a wonderful experience in this home. Before I ever made it into the house I fell in love with the deck. This is the type of deck that inspires people to sit and enjoy each others company. There is so much room to sit on this wrap around deck with its built in wooden benches, and it is surrounded by trees so it almost feels like you are in a tree house! The kitchen is clean with lots of counter space and done with a lot of great wood cabinets and flooring and it has a great bay window that looks out onto this awesome deck! It is perfect for creating meals to share with your friends and family whether you eat at the large dining table or out on (yep you guessed it...) the deck where there is also a picnic table. There was a ton of room for the kids, the wife, and even my mother in law to spread out between the 4 bedrooms but I was surprised to see everyone hanging out together despite the Wifi. Normally Wifi would result in my kids being sucked into cyber land but not this time! The rooms were cozy and clean. The kids loved the rack room downstairs (that's what we called it because of the bunk beds) It was an extremely short drive to dining and a relatively short drive to the local state parks. Would love to come back and explore some more!

Awesome Place; Awesome Host
This house is terrific and the owner even more so. Likely it makes little difference to the average renter that the landlord might recommend a biography of e.e.cummings or pretty much anything by Saul Bellow. But, think about it. People who can do those things are likely to have great houses. The best idea is to rent the house then invite the owner to come and entertain you.

I grew up in Long Island NY and came west for college and went to Stanford then got an MBA at Wharton and now have my own company. My house on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe is where my heart is. I fell for this house as soon as I came upon it and bought it. For 21 years it has given me, my family and friends immeasurable pleasure and fun.
